The best, cheapest and highest value insurance policy you'll ever buy
I'd advise you pulling the battery tab out of each of these units first, and getting them to link to each other wirelessly before installing, so you know everything is working. There are a couple of linking methods which the units correspond to, and on the round units this function is a push in the centre of the side which faces into the room, which activates a click switch that will control power on/off and linking state. You can also get the remote key fob involved at the point where they're all in pairing mode. Once all 4 units are flashing their hidden green lights every minute or so signifying they're all talking to each other, installation is a doddle. The do come with wall plugs and screws which can be used to secure their removable base frames, but I found just peeling off the adhesive on the pads these also have worked flawlessly and I just pushed them onto the ceiling where they've been ever since. The round units are a bit of an enigma, as it's as if the units open up but they don't. Just the mounting ring on the back twists off, but you don't even have to do that if you're using the adhesive fixings. All these units are SEALED with internal 10-year batteries that cannot be replaced. So after 10 years (designed-in specifically because of the sensor life expectancy) you just take them down and throw them away, and go and buy some more. I've put the CO, heat and smoke detectors downstairs in the lounge where a family member is being nursed in bed, and I've put the other smoke detector in my room upstairs, so if anything happens downstairs, all those units go off in unison and so does my alarm upstairs to wake me up if I'm sleeping. A brilliant solution to interlinked home protection alarms, which I think are a requirement for HMO and other rental properties?? (Not sure). The cheapest and highest value insurance policy you'll ever buy.

Couldn't fault it.
I recently purchased the Wireless Interlinked Smoke Alarms and Heat Alarm set, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. These smoke detectors come with a 10-year battery life, providing peace of mind without the hassle of frequent replacements. The wireless interlinking feature is fantastic; it ensures that when one alarm is triggered, all alarms in the house go off simultaneously, significantly enhancing safety. The included remote controller is a brilliant addition, making it easy to test and silence the alarms without needing to reach up to the ceiling. The silent function is especially useful for preventing false alarms during cooking, and the 85 dB alarm is loud enough to be heard throughout the house.Overall, this product combines convenience, reliability, and safety, making it an essential addition to any home. Highly recommended!

Nice set
Good set for the price. Looks sleek and is discreet. So far I've had no false alarms compared to my old smoke detectors. Their volume when testing is really loud (which is a good thing).Battery life only time will tell.

Safety first - complies with current Scottish legislation
Easy to set up and essential for son’s new flat! There have been a number of questions and comments regarding the compliance of this interlinked system with current UK legislation and appropriate standards. The legal aspect of interlinked smoke alarms and fire alarms even within the UK is different depending on where you are. For Scotland, having your smoke alarms and heat alarms interlinked became a legal requirement back in 2019 but was only officially put into place in 2022 due to the pandemic. For England and Wales, on the other hand, it is not yet a legal requirement in regulations, though it is still advised that they be interlinked for greater protection within properties.Currently the advice on the Scottish Fire & Rescue service website states:-‘There is no list of approved suppliers or fitters. When buying your alarm, check that they comply with the following standards:smoke alarms: BS EN14604:2005heat alarms: BS 5446-2:2003carbon monoxide detector: British Kitemark EN 50291-1’Viewed on a larger web page (iPad, laptop - not a phone) the Amazon supplier shows a photograph of the base of each item with the relevant standards clearly visible, as listed below:-Interlinked Smoke Alarm EN:14604:2005Interlinked Heat Alarm BS:5446-2:2003Carbon monoxide detector EN:50291-1:2018Therefore, as far as I can tell, this system complies with the appropriate advice above for where I live in Scotland.

No visible button on cover
These alarms look OK, and link OK, and are pretty loud, but and it is a big BUT.... there is no test or silence button VISIBLE on the plain white cover.... This is very confusing because as long as you have the remote handy, and the battery is OK you can test and silence the alarms, BUT the battery supplied with my remote gave up the ghost after a few minutes of use, ( which gives me no confidence in the sealed battery inside the smoke alarms lasting 10 years ) luckily I had some A23 12volt batteries because our doorbell uses the same battery. If you do not have the remote handy you have to guess where the button is that tests or silences the alarm.... I had to put a red dot on the centre of cover because the alarms were for an elderly family member. I do not like the dual use ( non visible ) button either, because once when pressing it I managed to 'unlink' that alarm..... It looks like these alarms are like the curates egg, good in places. Cannot comment on battery life yet, except for the one in the remote that lasted 10 minutes.
