Surprisingly nice holster
Surprisingly nice holster. Construction seems good. Holds a 1920’s era Colt Police Positive .38 well. I have no idea of the authenticity, but I didn’t get it for a specific re-enactment.

Very nice stitching and fine woven canvas
Very impressed with this holster. Very nice stitching and fine woven canvas. The hanger is well done. Fits my webley and British 5 in. S&W. Wish they made a ammo pouch also.

Good re-enactor grade holster, but NOT a 100% perfect re-pop
IF: you are looking for a good, re-enactor grade P-37 type .455 holster, -OR- a P-37/P-44 compatible large-ish frame revolver holster, you've found it! (and at a rather reasonable price!)What it is NOT: is an exact new-made copy of a British or Canadian Mills webbing P-37 holster for the .455.The cut is perfect, the stitching and hardwares are right.(I speak from experience here, over the past 35+ years I've seen a large number of the real deal holsters -- and owned several in BOTH 38 and 455 sizes...)The glitch here is the canvas used is the right grade for duplicating World War US GI gear, and is thusly and therefore too light, thin and fine a weave to pass for real Mills webbing -- and the material used for bias tape around the seams, etc. -- looks to be the same flat HBT material used for the strap portion of the bandoliers for the M1.As a result: This is a holster you won't feel guilty about "blancoing" -- (that acrylic fabric dye the Brits used as a combination dye/canvas preservative on their Pattern 1908, 1937 and 1944 webbing) either white for Royal Military Police rig, black for Royal Tank Regiment (postwar regs, xref Osprey's British Army 1965-1980 availalble at Amazon), or JG/olive drab to go with P-44 gear.Oh, and since people are asking, THIS is what a properly sized/made P-37 "type" holster will fit on (regardless of whether it's Mills webbing or GI canvas, so this goes for this holster as well as originals that have not shrunk...)#1 Mk VI .455 -- this to include the new repro that's a pellet gunColt and/or S&W Model 1917 with 6" barrel. (US GI 5.5" jobs may be a little loose in there)Colt Model 1909, xref bbl lengthS&W Triple Lock N frame revolver, 6" bblBritish #5 Mk 1* 25mm flaregun (the short barrel version, NOT the bell-muzzle type)Deane, Adams & Deane revolver of 1851 (though the bottom of the grip sticks out a bit) (old Denix repro used for test)Colt Army Special of 6" bbl should ALSO fitand interestingly: Remington Model 1861 Navy/1863 Army Police, cal. .36, 6.5" bbl (cartridge converted) WITH Kirst speed ejector or New Byzantium's "Rollins & Drew" ejector installed (ejectors are identical, one's welded the other's milled)You will need the octagonal-flapped "38" size holster for the following:Browning high-power (original military grips)S&W Victory Model, 5" bbl. (K-frame)Colt Official Police, d/o.Enfield #2 38 revolver (with or without hammer spur)--- though if you have a Webley .38 Mk. IV (to include Denix repro) you will have to use the RAF contract P-37 holster for the .38 For some reason, the flap and stud are positioned such that they won't close on the .38 Webley on regular P-37 holsters, but the bluish-gray RAF jobs ALWAYS fit just fine...And weirdly enough -- 5" barreled Colt 1851 Navy.Oh, and if anyone's interested, I have the recipe to make the Blanco dye in case you....

holster was of good quality. Seller was gracious and accepted return
Brass snap on flap broke the first time I used it, very thin brass. Otherwise, holster was of good quality. Seller was gracious and accepted return.
