Q: I'd like to put an extension cord onto the battery pack so I can place it at the front of my cabinet. What kind of cord do I need?

Hello Eve. Thanks for your question. The battery connection is of a water proof type and we don’t recommend making makeshift connections as extension. If you really have to extend the cord to front of cabinet, you can call AutoTap at 858 490 9205, perhaps they can make one for you. That said the provided battery should last 2 to 3 years and removing it for a battery change is very simple and not too frequent to worth the effort. Regards Susan

Q: I live in a rental. Is there a way to set up or mount the pedal in a way that I don't have to carve a space into the bottom of sink cabinet?

If you want to hook it to the plumbing AND have the pedal exposed for your foot, I don't think there's a way around it. The holes go through the floor of the cabinet. They aren't very big holes though.

Q: what if you do not want to use the pedal, can you use the faucet like normal?

Q: How do you prevent abrupt turning on/off of water?

As long as the plate is pushed the water flows with no interruption. To interrupt the flow, stop pushing the plate.
