A treasure trove of a book about the rich cultural heritage of Damascus tile making....fantastic pictures and interesting text - wonderful that this has been put together and published in such an absorbing and informative way. Yes it is larger than my book self width, but I will overlook that! Such an impactful book both for the visual artisrty , and for the accessible text - well worth the money so you can learn about this fascinating subject.

This is possibly the most lavishly produced book I have ever bought, and merely skimming the pages is a delight.It is, however, a scholarly review of the subject, and, as such, is very comprehensive. I doubt that I'll ever read the entire text, or, for that matter, acquire more than a passing knowledge of the subject, but then even a sprinkling of knowledge accompanied by the lasting pleasure of the illustrations makes this surprisingly good value.

What a magnificent book, rather large but all the better for conveying the detail in the tiles.
