Wonderful pen
I love this pen! Very smooth writing and weighted well so it feels good in your hand. Excellent value, and would make a good introduction to fountain pens. Currently using with Noodlers Squeteague. My everyday pen, makes writing a pleasure.

Smooth writer
A great starter pen... smooth writer and sits well in the hand. Reasonable weight but not heavy.

Amazing for the price
One of the best fountain pens I’ve come across for this price. I had a purple one before my blue one and it lasted me a year and a half being used everyday for school. The only problem is that the ink that fits it is pretty expensive so it is an investment. It flows nicely on the page though and isn’t too heavy. Would recommend!

A good pen
It is as good as the reviews say. As it is Europeanised it takes the standard small cartridges.

Lovely pen, packaging poor, case damaged
As another reviewer has commented, this is a very nice pen, but when I received it the pen had fallen out of its metal case and the metal case was damaged, dented in two places. As a fountain pen collector, the case is important and I would have expected it to have been in perfect condition, as the pen is new.I think that a little more care taken with the packaging could have prevented the damage.

My favourite fountain pen is a bargain
What a fantastic fountain pen for the money! I prefer using it over my lamy safari and parker 51. It has a great ink flow and writes smoothly despite the steel nib. It has a good weight to it and fits comfortably in my medium-sized hand. I'd like to see these made in nicer colors, perhaps without the band design. Note that this is the euro version of the Metropolitan - requires you to order a standard ink converter if you want to fill the pen with your own ink. It comes with a very small cartridge of ink that I did not use.

Thank you PILOT
So many raving reviews are already there, that I can hardly add anything new. Why bother writing the review then? To say "thank you" to the people of Pilot who brought to the market a pen, one enjoys returning to. Well... I wouldn't be myself if I did not find something to "complain" about - I would love it to be slightly slimmer, like just under 10mm at the steel ring level, but that's very subjective and the pen still deserves five stars for both the tactile and writing experience.

Unpredictable fountain pen
I love Pilot fountain pens. This series looks great and well made, and the pens are well balanced and write well. This is my second one. Problem is, I really don’t know which market pens from this series are made for, and each pen seems to be different. They don’t take Pilot converters. They should take standard international ones. For my first pen I used a Pelikan but it broke as the part that attaches to the pen seemed to be a tiny bit too narrow. I then bought a converter in Taiwan, plus an identical one as spare. I thought it would fit this second pen I bought, but surprise: not at all! I ended up using a Jinhao converter I happened to have and so far so good. So this is a great pen but if you plan to use bottled ink it’s a lottery and nuisance. Would advise against buying unless you can get one for a seriously discounted price.
