Gifts & Decor Solar Powered Outdoor Garden Lighthouse

I have several fairy houses in my backyard. My husband and I used to have our own favorite ones but now that I added this lighthouse to the garden, it has then become our most favorite one. It’s beautiful, very eye catching. It arrived perfect on the outside, except there was something loose on the inside. At first, I thought it was the light bulb or little screw but the lighthouse lit up when I switched it to “on”. So, since the light works and everything else is perfect I decided to keep it.The light itself is not as bright as the one on the Solar Gnome Tree House (Those are super bright!). It’s probably the same as on “Echo Valley 6290 Toadstool Solar Home” or “Echo Valley 6292 Farmhouse Solar Home”. But because the light section at the top of the lighthouse is pretty big compared to the lights from those tiny windows on the other two, this one stands out.Of course, I wish the manufacturer had installed a better bulb, but the overall quality is already much more than I expected and I’m very happy with it.For all the 3 solar units mentioned above (the Solar Gnome Tree House, Echo Valley 6290 Toadstool Solar Home, Echo Valley 6292 Farmhouse Solar Home) and this lighthouse, the lights would be on for only few hours at night. This is because of the storage capacity of the rechargeable batteries that came with them (either Ni-MH AA600mah 1.2V or Ni-CD AA600mah 1.2V). I had replaced them all with Ni-MH AA2800mah 1.2V, now the lights are on all night long. The 2800mah doesn’t make the light brighter but make it last longer. (I believe the brightness has something to do with the lumens of the bulb.) I think I probably overdid it though. I could have used something a little lower than 2800mah but I happened to have extra ones. Thank you for reading my long review. Hope this helps!

It's really well made, I got it for my mother and she keeps it right next to the window and it always lights up a nice yellow glow at night. Recommend

This was a gift for my 83-yr old mother, who just loves it, as do I. Some random comments.The item looks as depicted, which is good, but the glued items were sloppily assembled, leaving large clumps of dried glue, particularly noticeable in front where the solar collector is located. This was easily remedied by trimming with an exacto knife.Regarding the light, we will be experimenting with the options. To be clear, only the top red portion of the lighthouse is lit, nothing else. We currently are using a regular, nonchargeable battery and the light is bright enough for us, contrary to other expressed opinions. Next is to try the rechargeable batteries to see if the daytime recharge is enough to illuminate the lighthouse as brightly as the regular battery. If not, we have battery chargers.One large negative is the poor design/construction quality of the on/off switch. I do not think it is robust enough to survive much usage. I leave the switch "on" all the time.The price for what you get is good value. Unique and quite attractive, especially when lit up. Pretty foxy sitting in the den.

An overall great product. The solar panel works great and the light is just light enough for a perfect scene near my Mom's headstone.

This lighthouse is very attractive and sturdy. The light just adds to its charm. I gave it as a gift and my friend loves it. Well worth the money.

The light stopped working after a few weeks. Changed the battery and double checked the on-off switch but light still does not work. Not sure why it suddenly stopped working after a few weeks since it is in full sun. On the plus side, the lighthouse itself is a good size (~18 inches high), sturdy, and well painted. It looks great...just the light stopped working. So would get it for the looks but not for the solar light.

Very attractive item for my deck. It is heavy enough not to blow away in the wind, yet light enough to move around. It produces a faint light, not enough to illuminate anything in the area, but it is enjoyable to see it go on when it gets dark - and it stays lit for a good 8-9 hours if there was sufficient sunlight during the day. Really outstanding for the price.

I have wanted this beautiful lighthouse for the last two years, and when I finally received it, it turned out to be exactly what I hoped it would be. It's absolutely perfect in my east-facing bay window (I don't have a yard), and it really glows at night. I love lighthouses, and this one is the latest and prettiest addition to my collection.
