So pleased with this - and I haven't even used it yet! Bought to replace my dinky 4.5litre counter-top press, which is a lovely bit of kit, but far too small.This one is just the right size: not so heavy that I can't lift it, not so bulky that I can't store it, but big enough to make each pressing worth while.Assembly was easy peasy, I cheated and drilled the holes just a little bit larger.Lovely quality, strong, sturdy, I can't wait to use it!

Poorly designed as the screw handle is impeded by the rim of the press. There’s wooden blocks sent with the press that’s hardly enough (except if you used the blocks lengthwise) have bought another press that works much better at much less cost.

Good product

Solidly and simply made from beechwood and metal bits. Lots (50) of screws to deal with though. Can't wait for the autumn apples and pears to ripen. Maybe the instructions could be a tad more informative for numpties like me. The accompanying pamphlet on cider making was enough for now.

We have made three gallons of cider! Really pleased but was glad I had my husband to put it together.

I borrowed this press from my neighbour and found it a pleasure to use, very effective. The "nut" which the lever attaches to rides on the thread up the centre of the press - this is the part that does the work. It is sturdily made yet easy to thread on when starting a new pressing and easy to whizz off when you need to empty a pressed load. My neighbour found the same as another reviewer, that you cannot get a full press using the raising blocks supplied as the handle hits the top of the basket. He cut 4 more blocks of wood and with these it works well

Assembled this as soon as it arrived and used it immediately! We now have delicious organic apple juice from our own trees - some of which we have frozen. A very useful instruction booklet was enclosed - we may well move on to making cider...
