Petzl Unisex's ACTIK CORE HEADLAMP RED, Rot, One

The light and head-band are very similar to some of the other Petzl head torches.The stand-out feature is the ability to carry spare AAA batteries (standard - recommended - or rechargeable) as emergency backup.The specific Petzl USB rechargeable battery is the one to use routinely. I recharge mine on multi-day hikes with a 30k mAhr battery that I also use for my phone and Garmin. But that can all go wrong, so the AAA backup could be a life saver for almost no extra weight.

I go through these lights, giving them away if they're no good but sometimes just because they are so good. This is the second I've bought of this model. It's very very bright and the battery is unaffected by cold. It's light and simple, not as sophisticated as the Black Diamond headlights, but it's more powerful and cheaper and the battery - this really is key - is good and simple and works very well. My only reservation is that it is possible for the light to switch on by accident, I wish there were a better safety catch to prevent that. Black Diamond has the edge there.Edit: Several months later, this light is still going strong, has been used for cycling at night - very powerful indeed and better than bike lights as you never leave it on the bike. Still a favourite gadget of mine.

Had this some years now. Still using it. Hadnt reviewed before. Its brilliant bit of kit.Very bright on max setting.Used it walking and mountain biking through woods at night.

This is easily the best head torch I've used - I've had a few cheaper ones, and light produced is always a bit underwhelming.The top setting of the 3 on this head torch is blinding - very bright, and great for night-time trail runs.It's great having the option of using rechargeable battery (which is included) or sticking in some normal batteries, if you've forgotten to charge.Minor point is that to charge the battery, you have to take it out and charge it separately. However, the benefit of that is obviously the water resistance without having a port, and also that you have spare batteries charging to swap out if you needed, so this is actually a plus point.All in all highly recommended.

Great light for the price. High beam is bright enough for proper off road running. Mid beam bright enough for unlit country lanes. Battery seems to last a good while (not really tested it to its limits) and love the fact I can carry spare AAAs for longer runs/events. Head band comfy and light enough not to be really noticeable. Only slight negative is having to cycle thru all the settings including pitch black when I want to flip between high and mid to preserve battery. Still a bargain compared with similar brightness reactive lights at about twice the price.

This head torch is in a league of it's own. Super super super!I've had a few other brands, but this is one is excellent. It has 3 different level setting for required brightness, plus a red light option. The battery is easy to recharge plus it's also replaceable. You can angle the head piece according to your activity making seeing much easier. Especially when you're trying to catch 2 stubborn horses in the pitch black!

Great product that works very well as you would expect, however one day you’ll go to use it and bam, nothing, you try and see what’s wrong and are left in the dark ☹️
