This little item works great! My pasta water never boils over after inserting this gadget in the bottom of the pot!

I bought this for a friend I have 2 of these and they work great when boiling water by putting in the bottom of the pan so the water doesn’t boil over. I use it when cooking spaghetti, potatoes, or anything else with water.

What an awesome gadget for the kitchen. Years ago I had a pot minder but it was ceramic and cracked with so much use. I tossed it out and couldn't ever find another. Now that I know the name, I see them listed online. This one is amazing. I like it better than the ceramic one I had before.When I boil water, I toss it in and don't have to worry about it boiling over. It has not failed me yet after several uses. My teenagers like to make macaroni and cheese. They will not be watching the stove and busy on their phones. So this has saved a huge mess to clean. As for the noise level, if you got a rolling boil and a metal pan, you probably will hear it at some point. I use it in my metal pans and also my ceramic coated pans. No scratches so far. I love it!

I purchased this so I would know when the water was boiling when cooking eggs. Too often I've missed when the water came to a boil so I couldn't accurately time my eggs. The only issue is if I have too many eggs in the pot they weigh down the rattler so it doesn't rattle.

Stamped steel with a sharp edge where it contacts the pan. When it rattles, which it's supposed to do when water boils, it scratches the pan's surface. If the pan has a nonstick coating, forget it!
