High heat and humidity?  Every tape ive tried releases itself within a few hours from the heat and humidity of florida... and its not even summer yet

I've had this issue numerous adhesive tapes and products including outdoor heavy duty self adhesive velcro brand named products with just heat temperatures causing failure outdoors. We rarely have humidity problems like Florida here in NW MT but do have episodes and periods of temps hitting the triple digits for a week now and again.  One of the key's to success with adhesives that are suppose to handle it is CLEAN SURFACE and type of surface too. Chalky paint, cleaning products that left a residue such as just about any of them. Windex original can be helpful in a pinch if you can't use warm soapy water like dish soap without additives like oxy or bleaches or hand friendly oils. Must stay away from all and any products that can leave a residue themselves and many cleaning and polishing products do. So original tide, maybe dawn dish soap I've never used myself but they make a heavy duty oil cutting kind that many use to clean tires and such so maybe that's an option. Meantime wash and allow to dry. If your humidity is part of the fail factor run a hair drier or light setting heat gun over the area you'll tape a few minutes before applying. Rinse the area water off too I forgot to mention. Just need a good clean microfiber or cotton terry cloth for that and that should mop up any chance of residues left too. In many indoor cases I do clean with 91% Isopropyl alcohol just a quick wipe down with clean paper towel with some on it. It'll go farther than you expect. Do  not use hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol they may contain residues that defeat the purpose. I recommend buy the smaller package and test an area first. If after a week or two of high heat and humidity it still holds then buy what you need and it's possible perhaps the least expensive roll would be enough for your project if you over lapped etc. Worth a trial effort. On a side bar the Alien like tape I bought generic brand from Amazon 3 years ago to stick up a remote door bell to my garage knowing the cheap double stick pad that the door bell came with would not hold & did not want to nail up because we needed to paint the entire garage soon. It's now going on 3 years harsh winter & summers and it has never failed. Never slipped or loosened & does not show.  Alien tape is not known or used as far as I know as a water tight seal and I would not expect it to. But velcro heavy duty tabs their adhesive backing failed when temps reached 67 F outside. These were to hold up 4'x16" double bubble super light weight insulation panels with aluminum side up and white down to keep a covered patio cooler. Cooling effect is priceless but not when they fall down. In the end I just went through and stapled them in place on the ceiling the velcro tabs that is and then stapled the soft loop part directly to the insulation that matched perfectly. First by stapling the hook tab in place. Adding the loop with adhesive ready to the stapled on hook. Pressed individual panels to this & careful removal of the panels taking the loop tabs with it kept the tabs in perfect alignment for stapling the loop onto the panels tacked in place. Then put the panels back up and voila I had insulation up and does not come down unless I want to take it down. Will in theory.  We've had to remove all of this to paint the home and that includes underside of patio roof. The roof being covered in classic shingles in medium brown heats up far higher temps than the air temps at 67 but that seemed to be the magic number that caused adhesive failure with the heavy duty outdoor hook & loop product. I had to use two types of staplers. A staple gun for the wood ceiling and a long reach office stapler that is also heavy duty so it had a wider opening that allowed the thickness of the velcro and the double bubble insulation. Good luck and definitely do a trial run before buying too much and finding out too late it doesn't work for your needs.

Will it damage wood when peeled off after the winter?

Doesn’t look like it would. It’s sort of a stretchy rubbery tape, not extremely tacky.

Question 3

Does this leave residue when peeling off ? Will it peel off the paint on  the windows ?

Mine came off easily. It also doesn’t stick to itself like regular packaging tape. Not a “gummy” adhesive.

Did this help reduce noise?
