Simple and effective device
Fabulous product! Works easily (with windows 10). Simple to use and great way to preserve those old slides from years ago in a more modern format.

Inexpensive USB scanner scanner meets my needs
I recently acquired a M123 USB Film Scanner from DigitNow on February 12, 2018. I initially had some difficulty in getting my laptop Windows 7 computer to recognize the USB connection. I found that what the manual says on page 2 about “USB overloading” is literally true. If you attempt to use a USB hub of any sort, even those with auxiliary power supplies attached, the computer, it will not recognize the scanner. It reports a malfunction in the scanner hardware. When I connected the USB scanner directly to a USB port on the laptop, or any other of my systems, it recognizes the scanner and it lights up the LED. The Windows 7 Device Manager reports the scanner as being a SPCA 2080 PC Camera and driver. I found the User’s Manual to be at best minimally useful. When you click on “Image Input” a Film Preview window appears and if a slide is inserted in the scanner, you will see it in this window. It does not tell you that the Film Preview window must be first “capture” this image before the scanner button on the device will operate. The provided software, NimoFilm, is also minimally useful, but for the $29.00 price on Amazon, it is still a great bargain! It does not mention that you must first turn off the Film Preview window before you can use the “Image Output” function to store the digitized JPEG files. I found that the color balance of the scanner tended toward the blue, but since I had already planned to use color correction software (such as Photoshop) on the raw JPEG files, this was not much of a factor. I literally wanted to copy hundreds of 35mm positive slides and some color negative film strips; my primary concern was ease and speed of use. I found that the USB Film Scanner met both of these requirements remarkably well. For the price, this is a remarkable scanner and well suited for my needs. The supplied software keeps me from rating it higher than 4 stars.

This does a very bad job
At first I thought I just needed to fool around with the software, but I have, and it is still terrible. Just a piece of junk. I will probably box it up and give it to Goodwill. The pictures from perfectly good slide are barely distinguishable.. It guess since this was cheap compared to the others, you get what you pay for. It doesn't "scan." It simple shines a light through the slide and captures the image with has to be the worst lens made today.

Pretty good for the price
This works pretty well. The directions for loading the slides in the carrier were either wrong or ambiguous because the first ones I did were mirror image? I didn't know til I discovered one with writing in it so I had to delete them and start over. My late husband had taken them in the late 60's overseas so I was not familiar with the area photographed. Loading the carrier is time consuming and does not slide easily through the device, but I have a limited number of slides to do so it will work out ok.

Easy to use, good value
I had a huge envelope of old negatives from my grandmother, and this was a great inexpensive way of converting the negatives & slides to digital pictures. The trays included are meant for “modern” negatives (1980’s -1990’s), but as long as the older negatives weren’t too curled, I was able to put them through the scanner without a tray. The conversion program included was very minimalistic... easy to use, with some basic color editing capabilities. I did end up using the Windows photo editing program (included with windows OS) for some other basic edits - mostly “flip/mirror” and “rotate” for when I realized I put the negatives through the wrong way

but the quality of the digital picture is fair at best, some even poor
It works as far as converting a slide to digital, but the quality of the digital picture is fair at best, some even poor. They are fuzzy and not good enough quality to be worthwhile converting. I am returning the DIGITNOW Scanner

Product works well
The product works as advertised. The software leaves much to be desired, and is not easy to set up and install in Windows 10. I had to jump all sorts of hoops to get Win 10 to recognize the device, but now it works fine.
