Worked for Shrinkage
Worked good. See photos. Had some cotton and cotton blend pants with tight waists due to laundry shrinkage. Got them back to the original size. First I pulled up the zipper without fastening the button or hook. I used a towel and tight vice grips to hold the waist closed. If you use the normal garment fasteners they will likely break due to the force of the stretching. Next I put the device in the waist band. Make sure it's centered in the waistband because that is what needs to be stretched. Using hands I tightened the stretcher so it was firmly in place, then tightened a bit more with a wrench - not too tight. At this point I misted the waist band with distilled water (tap water can cause stains). After misting I tightened a bit more and left several hours until the fabric was dry. The waist returned to its original size. I wouldn't recommend this on pants that have a back seam in the waste. You might end up breaking that seam. For pants that have not shrunk, proceed cautiously because there may only be a little stretch available beyond the actual size. The important thing to remember is to use clamping during stretching to hold the waistband close, not the garment fasteners, which will be over stressed. BE CAREFUL. You can damage your garment if you apply excessive stretch. Maybe practice with old clothing first.

Very sturdy pant stretcher
This pant stretcher is much more sturdy than I expected. It is also very easy to use. There are excellent directions that came with it so it is gives you step by step instructions on putting it together and how to use it. I think it is worth the cost and I recommend it.

After figuring out how to use this gadget it's very useful
Took me a while to figure how to use this but it really has saved a lot of jeans (and misery) instead of putting them away. I bought a plastic one a couple years ago and that one broke so I wanted to make sure my next one was more sturdy, even if I had to pay a little more. This one is STURDY!

Use a vice grips!
Make sure that after you moisten the inner and outer part of the waist band, that you use a small vice grips to clasp together area above the zipper. Do NOT snap or use the button on the pants to close the front of the pants in place otherwise when you go to stretch it, you may very well break those parts as they cannot withstand the stretching. That's why you use the vice grips. Think about what I have said and you will understand.

It works but confusing.
Needed to put one of the extensions' on. Which made it hard to know which direction to tighter and loosen.

Garbage
First time using this, I ended up with metal shavings inside the pants. Made very cheap. Threads are stripping on very first use. I bought this because it had good reviews. These people must be stretching underware with it instead of pants and jeans.

A great device
When my husband accidentally over-dried several of my jeans; when I did not help by eating a little too many treats, this device helped me to keep my pants rather than to buy new ones. A great relief and works very well. Nicely designed. WELL WORTH the purchase!

Does it work?
So I bought this because I've got pants that, well, don't fit so good anymore. Does it work? YEP! Took them out of the wash machine and put the stretcher to work. Will do after each washing for the next couple washings. And that was on a pair of Levi's that I couldn't get buttoned at all. I keep telling the wife the dryer is shrinking my Levi's... she says it's the refrigerator. Might be.
