Monitor has exact same defects my first one has. They are cheap for a reason! Be warned!
This is the second Eve 4k glossy monitor (now called Dough) i purchased as a means to finally get a possible "fix" to all the problems ive been having. This new monitor (minus the intermittent black screens, but i never tested it long enough) has the EXACT Same problems my old one has (and the old one has a firmware update too...the ONE and ONLY FW update to any of these monitors). It is entirely unusable over the HDMI port for me and i can only use the DP which i can't use due to my setup.Picture 1 = normal motionPicture 2 = abnormal motioncompare the two and see if you can spot the ghosting differencesIssue(s) that have still not been fixed:1. Major motion stability problems on either of the HDMI ports that render the 144hz feature unusable entirely. I was the first person to document this problem fully on Eves old customer forums (now totally deleted) and i am surprised to see that this problem STILL persists on TWO sampled units. Clearly this is a problem with the control units on these that have never been fixed and probably can't be. Basically you can start with 144 hz fine, but over time at some point the motion becomes "desynced" and you get what appears to be 60-75 hz motion but jarring and inconsistent in the UFO ghosting test. As a result you have to reboot or power cycle the monitor to recover until you get the same problem again.2. The sharpness settings do not persist past screen sleep or power cycle. So if you set it to 70 and turn off, the settings reset and you have to change the sharpness either up or down to recover it. Annoying "feature" that also never got fixed.3. Its possible you will get Random blanking using these monitors. For the short time i used it (less than 2 hours) i never had that happen but over time people have complained about it and it was a major problem on the forums just before they deleted it all.4. Lots of clear issues when trying to use it in a multiple screen configuration where the monitors had lots of sync issues and would lag out and black screen many times just trying to duplicate display desktops. Ive never had that issue with any multiple 4k display to date. What i do like:They have the ONLY decent glossy screen on the market (far better than LGs semi glossy coating). The monitor is packaged in a sleek and easy to access design. When it works it works well.Regular desktop use is fine. Now its possible your mileage may vary on these units, but dont be surprised if you get one as multiple people have reported the exact same problem as i did.Dough (previously EVE) is a semi fraudulent company. Be warned!

Total Hassle
Huge discoloration in the middle of the screen. USB-C didn't work. HDMI worked but boots extremely slow, and doesn't always boot. The gloss is not as good looking as influencers would have you believe. It's a flimsy plastic, so nowhere near as vibrant as glass. The image quality of this monitor is NOT pretty.2023 and can't even get a basic monitor right. Influencers are being paid off.

One issue, but otherwise great
I ordered this off of Amazon when the product said "ships within 2 to 3 days." I ordered on a Tuesday, was in the hands of UPS on Wednesday, and delivered Saturday. It looks like they are using a third party (SHIPBOB) to fulfill orders, and I think this is helping them greatly. The product arrived in flawless condition; no scuffs, scratches, and not a single dead pixel on my unit. I believe the display itself is manufactured by LG Display, so I think the probability of any display defects is incredibly low.First impressions are very good. The display is glossy, but it's not a mirror finish like you might expect. It does a good job of diffusing a little bit of reflections, while still providing added clarity over a panel with a matte finish. I use two of LG's 27GN950 monitors for work, and my understanding is that the Dough Spectrum uses a very similar (if not exactly the same) 27" 4K panel, and the advantage that the Spectrum has in terms of sharpness is noticeable due to its glossy finish. If you've never used a 27" 4K matte display before, then I'm not sure that the benefit of glossy would be fully appreciated.I justified the price I paid for this monitor because I believe it is "enthusiast grade," meaning it has a design and features that monitor lovers have been asking for (glossy finish, HDMI 2.1, modern/minimalist design, USB-C hub). The USB-C hub is great, but it has one big flaw; each time the monitor wakes from sleep, it essentially "reboots" the USB hub. So for example, my work requires a VPN connection to access files, intranet, etc., and I have an Ethernet cable plugged into one of the USB ports (which then connects to my laptop via USB-C and gives me wired internet access). Let's say I take a lunch break, lock my computer, and my laptop puts the display into standby mode. When I return from lunch and the monitor comes out of standby, it will reboot the USB hub and momentarily break the internet connection, and thus disconnect me from the VPN. According to Dough's developers (who post to their community forum regularly), this is an issue with the USB hub's firmware which is locked by the USB hub vendor, and therefore cannot be fixed via firmware update. I understand their position on this, but I feel like Dough could get creative and develop a workaround. I'm not a developer, but maybe if the monitor detects no signal from a host computer, it only turns off the display backlight instead of going into a traditional standby mode. I really wish this could get fixed, because the only solution to maintain a "single cable setup" would be to purchase a Thunderbolt 4 dock with the capability of 4K 144Hz, and the only option would be CalDigit's $400 TS4 dock.Overall, the monitor is great. If you are a monitor enthusiast, I think you will notice and appreciate the benefit that a glossy finish has to offer.

Firmware issues hold it back.
It's 4K, 144hz, has a USB hub, it's glossy. It's almost the dream. Except using it is an actual pain in the ass.I have done every firmware update imaginable on Dough's reddit community, and the issues keeping this screen from actually being decent is the fact that the firmware is so half baked, I'm very tempted to just return it. The monitor never wakes up from sleep using DisplayPort, and sometimes it will just blank out in the midst of gameplay. I got around these issues by just using HDMI, but why should I have to do that? The monitor never goes to sleep either; it stays on when the monitor timeout kicks in, and if you try to wake it after the fact, sometimes the whole thing just becomes unresponsive and you're forced to unplug it from the wall to get it to do anything.I want to believe but it's just not worth the trouble, and there's just no communication whether these issues are going to be fixed anytime soon. Look elsewhere.

Garbage
This product is garbage. I would pay money not to deal with Dough.
