Q: i am a 42 inch chest what size would you recommend for a snug fit ?

I'm a 42" chest I got the large size it's a perfect snug first

Q: Does this jacket have a Drawstring waist

I’d say it’s showerproof, and fine in rain for everyday short hops like between car park & supermarket etc. I wouldn’t try hiking long distances in heavy rain, but there are waterproof sprays you could treat it with. TBH the only truly 100% waterproof garment out there is the waxed cotton “Barbour” type (as long as it is re-waxed from time to time.)
