Just follow our instructions. Use the drill on law speed and remember that all the stages (slaughter-scalding-defeathering) should be effectuated without breaks or interruptions! Do not scald poultries in the boiling water. In the manual we include you will find a table with recommended scalding temperature and duration. If while plucking not all the feather removes, it is necessary to rise the temperature or increase the duration of scalding. If the skin was damaged, it is necessary to decrease the temperature or reduce the time of scalding.

Are the fingers replaceable in case they break off?

When necessary you can do that. The housing is opened on the bottom. These plucking fingers will serve you at least 2-3 years. When you see that it is time to change them, just cut old fingers using a knife and install new ones.

Can this device be used on quails?

Thank you for your question. Plucking machines with big plucking fingers ( 70, 80, 90 mm ) fit to big poultry only (chicken, duck, goose, turkey). For quails, you need shorter and smaller plucking fingers (50-60 mm). We produce these attachments and soon you will find our Quail Plucker with little 45mm fingers here on Amazon.
