Q: Are the slots big enough to hold pens? For example Micron pens.

Okay......The 120 case holds double standard size colored pencils. It will hold a single pen as well. It should actually hold 2 micron pens per slot.........with this exception. The end slots on the case itself are so tight that getting 2 pencils out is very hard. Use these for only one pencil and you should be fine........So for me, this case actually holds 116 pencils.......It is designed to hold markers at 60 per case but pencils and microns are much smaller......I think this is the largest case available but I may be mistaken. It is well built and should hold up for many years. It is also quite thick, between 2-3". Keep this in mind if you are planning to carry it in as a travel case. Enjoy....I like mine

My case on the inside across measures 9 inches. and has room for 14 pencils on the outer ends and 11 pencils on the 2 inner flaps. However, I have lots of pencils so I put 2 pencils in each loop and that works for me. It's great for taking on a car trip, etc. I have a friend who bought 2 cases and uses both. I really like this case.
