Nicoletti Coffee "Original" Espresso Roast Beans 2.20lb (Made in Brooklyn NY since 1972) Fresh Roasted Espresso with date.

I've been looking for freshly roasted coffee for quite sometime and didn't want to pay a kidney at local roasters. Finally found this coffee. It arrived within a few days of being roasted which was great.My main intention was to use it with double shot single wall portafilter (not the pressurized one) on my breville barista express machine and after a few trys I got it right and man oh man does it make a world of difference.I won't describe the taste because you gotta try it yourself but I'll walk you through the proper settings.Grind level - open where the beans go and take off the teeth area and you see a red dot, you an adjust it for internal grind level. Move it to 3. Then the grind lever on the left of the machine move that to 1 (finest).Coffee amount - empty any coffee in the grinder container. Measure exactly 18gr whole beans in your porta filter and empty it in the container and grind it all for one double shot.Double shot button setting - press manual button and then double shot to manually set your shot time. Start counting when you press the double button. Between 20-35 seconds when you see the dialer going to espresso range and you got the crema prese the double shot again now you got your double shot timer setup for future shots.Tools too use. Use a wdt to ensure coffee is evenly distributed and then tamper it twice on a smooth surface.There it is. Hope you get the experience what I did. I will be ordering from them from now on. Use to go with lavazza but no more no more!

Great for espresso. Amazing taste. Arrived quickly and freshly roasted. I was using Counter Culture previously but this is so much better!

I LOVE this coffee… I’ve tried so many fresh roasted beans and these are still my very favorite! They are consistently smooth and sweet with beautiful Crema… they are freshly roasted and ship fast!! So happy I found these!!!

I have been a customer of Amazon since 1999. I may have written ONE review, not to do a disservice to other clients but I have not been moved to write a review until NOW. I have a superautomatic espresso machine and am amazed by the convenience, will it ever beat having someone who knows what they are doing pulling a shot with a portafilter? Nah!... its not going to happen BUT I press a button and I get an espresso, easy peasy nice and easy. I am originally from New York, so there was no need for a Starbucks. I go to an Italian restaurant and got a great epresso with a twist of lemon zest on the side sometimes. I have moved elswhere and had to fend for myself. I have tried Illy beans for my machine, it was ok and Lavazza Gran Espresso , I wasnt inspired, BUT lo and behold I came across Nicoletti's Espresso Beans , ordered them which had a ROAST DATE of July 25, 2019, got them on the 29th free shipping. I switched out the Illy I had in my machine , poured the Nicoletti beans,( regarding the beans the aroma was ridiculous!). They were roasted medium and not oily so that's great for my machine. After I did three shots then I noticed the difference, wow! the color! , the crema! then the aroma was out of this world , not acidic full of natural sweetness when it hits the front of your pallete , then kinda of a burnt but pleasant chocolate in the background saying , "Sip me! Drink me! " I then proceeded with shot in my hand to write this review for Mr. Nicoletti. The price point, the freshness, the absolute enjoyment is so worth it. I know I do not have to pay for overpriced roasters to get this kind of experience that I desire. I also know that I can order more coffee and get it fresh (the roasting date tells you). You can buy the other brands with no roasting date and get coffee that has lost its life many months ago(yes coffee is ALIVE!) , or get Nicoletti's. No I have not gotten a discount or a promo or was asked to do this review, but I do know if I was in Brooklyn I would get my coffee there. You know what? I now have a hankering for some anisette with a coffee bean! Better yet , some Seafood Fra Diavolo from Vesuvios, UGH!!!! I gotta stop!!

These coffee beans don't impress right out of the bag. In my experience, there's no fresh coffee scent. Nothing like what I expected. Even as it's brewing, there's no coffee fragrance, to bring on the usual "fresh coffee smiles". But in a coffee mug, sitting there to cool off a bit, this coffee changes, mysteriously, into a lovely coffee substance. The taste turns out to be something very honest and nice. I have other "fresh roast" coffee beans in my stash, but I have been reaching for these.My theory, concerning these Fresh Roasted coffee beans: The heavy, distinct smell of coffee beans which we have come to expect, is actually the scent of older beans which have been off-gassing in the bag. That lovely smell is just coffee bean gas. This disappears into the air and the finished cup has nothing like it. In other words, older coffee beans with the strongest "bag" smell can turn out to be nothing but mugs of disappointment. These Nicoletti Coffee beans, being fresh roasted, have not sat around long enough for out-gassing to start inside the bag. So they can seem to be scentless. Fresh ground and brewed...they are wonderful.I have come around to some deep appreciation for Nicoletti Coffee (from Brooklyn Fresh Roasters) . I recommend this Fresh Roast coffee company

I was immediately impressed upon taking a sip of this coffee. It produced a beautiful crema, and the flavor is so smooth. I’m not a black coffee drinker, but this is one I’d even enjoy black! I was also pleased to see it roasted just a of day before it shipped. This one is a keeper. I highly recommend.
