Cheaply produced rubbish that didn't work.
First problem out of the box was that it came with a European plug socket. It hadn't mentioned that in the description. I managed to find an adapter, borrowing it from another appliance (annoyed that I would have to spend money for a more permanent solution).I started trying to set it up. It took a few attempts at switching it on and off before it responded at all and, when it did, the display was so dim, I hardly noticed it. I assumed that that would change when I took it off standby mode. It didn't.I tried to set the timer. It took about half a dozen attempts before it saved the new time setting. I would have imagined the fault was mine had it not been for the fact that it did save the date, which meant the time setting must have been entered because you can't move to the date setting without it.The remote control was more effective at changing the lights in the room (which have a remote control of their own) than it was at controlling the stereo.Next the CD player. The open/close control was slow to function. When it did the drawer is very flimsy and will obviously break quickly just through normal use. Also it revealed that the rose gold covering on the fascia is just a foil covering which hadn't even been properly stuck to the underside of the CD drawer. It was already peeling away. Presumably, it would start to peel off the buttons and more visible parts fairly soon if we hang on to the product.I inserted a CD. It did play it. The sound quality was okay, although nothing that anyone who really wants good hifi would like. No depth. We weren't buying it for that though, so, if nothing else had bothered me, that wouldn't have either.We were not so lucky with the radio, which did not work at all, neither in DAB nor in FM mode. To tune in to stations, you are supposed to put the stereo into the DAB or FM mode and then press MENU to put the set into scan. However, in DAB/FM mode absolutely nothing happened when I pressed the menu button. I tried the button on the set: nothing. I tried the menu button on the remote control: the lights went off, but nothing happened on the stereo.Giving up on that, I decided to check the Bluetooth mode. I managed to connect it to my iPhone very easily, but when I played music from the phone, the sound quality was terrible with very bad interference. Unlistenable.This was a birthday present for my daughter. I am furious at her excitement turning to disappointment. I will be sending it back and buying something different instead. I strongly advise others not to make the mistake of buying it in the first place.

In the process of returning said item because the tuning dial wasn’t working, probably just bad luck on my behalf.Nothing wrong with sound quality. Would recommend, if in full working order.
