Great rod and reel combo
Short version for those skimming... It's awesome, I highly recommend you buy it!I purchased this Kingswell rod/reel combo to bring with me on motorcycle trips. I was looking for something small enough to fit in a saddle bag. This combo fits perfectly in a Street Glide saddle bag and I still have tons of room for my other fishing gear and clothes. It's very light and compact, while still feeling high quality casting, reeling and setting the hook. I genuinely enjoyed using this combo and look forward to using it quite a bit more on motorcycle trips. This rod and reel combo is amazing and really brings a smile to my face. The rod is light and flexible, plus it casts incredibly well. Using the exact same rig (line, leader, weight, hook, bait and float), I can cast at least 15 yards further than my Okuna 6.6ft pole. While my Okuna is shorter, that tells me I'd be able to cast the same distance as a standard (one or two piece) fishing pole. I like this one so much, I won't be buying a similar length one/two piece rod. I will be sure to update this review if I'm ever able to directly compare casting distance with a one/two piece rod of similar length.Casting this rod is nice and smooth. The rod loads and unloads well, with a good snap that really launches the rig with a nice cast. It provides a good response to the bite while fishing with faster moving jigs as well as when the bait is sitting in the water suspended by a bobber. The reel is nice and smooth, I can work jigs pretty well. I haven't had a chance to bring in a giant yet, but I have had to yank a stuck jig out of a log under water. Which is why I know this Kingswell rod and reel combo has some serious flex and lots of power.I really like the smaller reel and rod bags. The small bags keep them protected from scratches as they tumble around in my saddle bags during the ride. The plastic cover for the rod end is very protective, I accidentally dropped a 12"x7" tackle box tray on it and was so pleasantly surprised there was no damage to the end of the rod at all!The only trouble I've found so far are the zippers on the carry bag. If I move them very fast, it will slip a tooth and require extra effort to open, so I just zip them slowly now. So far everything is holding up well to repeated use. It's perfect for my desired use and really works well. I highly recommend it!To sum up, I can offer some simple logic... Some may not say this is directly comparable to the $200 one piece rod with $300 bait casting reel you see in the hand of a pro on Bass Masters, but that doesn't matter at all. It's just a solid rod and reel combo that works well to bring in fish. Whether you catch big fish is much more reliant on location/technique/bait than whether you have the most expensive rod/reel on the lake. This combo can handle big fish, whether you catch them is completely on you. :-)

Awesome rod for traveling with a lot of value to offer for the money
I've been searching for a while to find a telescoping rod setup that was designed well and built with quality components. As anyone looking for just a few minutes within a quick Amazon search can attest, there is an enormous amount of travel rods out there that are essentially the same cookie-cutter design and built from cheap components. Additionally, all have very similar reviews referencing a "Lack of quality", "Poor durability once put to use for the first time", or comments to the tune of "You get what you pay for".After some digging, I came across the Kingswell brand, which I had never heard of before but after doing a bit of research, watching a few unboxing review videos and checking out their website, I had a good feeling this was a company that took pride in their products and were determined to provide quality fishing gear to their valued customers. I'm here to say I'm glad I did my homework and I hope this review will help folks make the choice to give them a try. The Kingswell rod and reel setup I received has exceeded every one of my expectations. It's portability is just what I needed as I mountain bike a lot and this setup mounts on the frame of my bike with a few Velcro straps very nicely. I'm always ready to fish those back woods, hard to reach bass ponds.Pros:- Lightweight and perfectly sized for travel- Really good quality rod and reel for the money- Protective hood provided which is a great idea to keep those eyelets from getting damaged- Great action for a telescoping rod but still provides good sensitivity to feel those bites- Very helpful alignment lines to help ensure your eyelets are all aligned when opening- Very good friction locks but not so tight the rod can't be closed easily once your finished using itCons:- No cons at this time.I've used the rod and reel several times already and caught several good-sized fish. I'm already planning my next hiking trip and I'll be sure to pack this setup in my backpack so I'm prepared to fish no matter where I go. If anyone asked me if I would purchase this product again, knowing what I know now, I would respond with a resounding YES!
