SAKURA Cray-Pas Expressionist Oil Pastel Set - Soft Oil Pastels for Artists - 16 Colors

These were recommended to me by another artist. I have used other brands before and one in particular for a long time and thought that I was pleased with that brand until I used the Sakura brand. I was blown away as to how well they worked. I used them for a mixed media painting. They did not break like my other oil pastels. They gave smoother strokes that gave my artwork the emphasis that was needed. When I applied a thin coat of paint on top of the Sakura oil pastels, the result was amazing. Whereas the other brand faded away. I cannot emphasize how happy I am with the Sakura oil pastels. I will be buying Sakura's other colors now and making Sakura a permanent part of my stock of art supplies. The quality is excellent. I would highly recommend.

Color selection is super. Sakura is def a favorite brand for art supplies. This is my first real foray into oil pastels, which I figured would be messy to work with. I got some fixative but haven’t even felt the need to use it cos these pastels aren’t terribly smudgy. They blend easily if you intend to do so however. Quite user friendly & densely pigmented- what more could u ask for?

I’m a professional artist and cray-pas are one of my favorite media. I decided at the last minute to get these as part of a present for a good friend who’s exploring the joys of drawing. I wanted these - the ones I use- not the kiddie version. I also needed fast delivery. This set was perfect and got here when I needed it. My friend is delighted with this set.

I’m new to oil pastels, so I can’t say how these compare to others. But I’m pretty happy with them. They’re very soft and smooth. Only downside is when laying down a lot of color, there is a bit of flaking. These were a great set to get started with.

The pastels were very nice. They were very pigmented and went smoothly onto the paper

The media could not be loaded. Very good!

I've used these several times buying at different places in person , and they're great. This time it just turns out I needed them shipped, big mistake because they arrived in bad condition, I can still use them though.

Beautiful colors and love using them on my wood dolls. Love e the price and will purchase again in the near future
