about how long does it take for this to work?

Like any medicine, it will take about a week or so. It's worked great for my dogs, but eventually their heart murmur will get worse and you would have to switch to vetmedin, if I could have. I would have kept them on this, but it did slow down the rate of the murmur from getting worse tremendously.

I purchased this item and upon opening I saw blakc liquid and tar, what color is this medicine is supposed to be?
