Joseph Joseph Intelligent Waste Totem Kitchen Trash Can and Recycle Bin Unit, 16 gallon / 60 liter, Silver

We just moved and have limited space. I was looking for a recycling container that would be "dog proof" with a lid and wanted something that looked nicer than a "commercial" looking recycle bin. I came across the Joseph trash and recycle can and thought it was the perfect solution. The recycle section is smaller than any of the individual recycle bins I could find but I love that it's all contained in one unit. I typically have to empty it every other day so that's not too bad. I also really like that the trash section takes regular trash bags and I don't have to make an additional purchase to make this system work. Although it's expensive, I'm totally happy with the products quality and functionality - it was the perfect solution for our space and needs.

I was looking for a garbage can for easy sorting for recycling vs. garbage. This does it, and so stylishly! Most other units for sorting are way too large in terms of space it takes in a kitchen. This unit is pretty compact yet holds quite a bit. Already I'm noticing that I recycle most items that I was previously just throwing in the trash. I also love the little basket and place it on the counter during food prep.At first I was like - the cost of this can is ridiculous! But after looking around, it's actually about the same price as many of the stainless steel brands that are more stylish- like- simple human. The extra cost compared to other brands I think is worth it. I like the color too- I'm pretty sick of everything coming in stainless steel and black. The light gray of this can matches my walls where it almost disappears- but in the photos the product looks white. Maybe people who don't care much about aesthetics could care less about a garbage can, but I think it's a really cool product- that will last a long time. It will probably save me money in the long run since the cheaper ones break or they stop fitting my needs.

I know. It's expensive. But as I was researching trashcans turns out they are all pretty pricy. I was stuffing all my recycling into my pantry to keep it out of site which was pretty gross and inconvenient; but my kitchen is small. My garbage can after a few years, as nice and stainless as it was, started to mold inside :( and smell, no matter how much I scrubbed it. It's too expensive to just buy a new can every few years. Often I had to dig through my trash when visitors left to pull out the recyclables, as it's hard to train folks. I wanted my can to do what I needed it to do, be convenient and look nice in my kitchen for a long long time. I bought this a few months ago and I LOVE IT! First off, EVERYONE compliments it, asks questions and wants one. It's really as cool and quality looking as the picture. Second, EVERYONE puts garbage, food waste and recycling in the proper place, and actually seems to love doing it. I know seems weird but true! Taking the garbage out is so easy. The food waste bin doesn't smell and the entire system is quick and easy to keep clean. So if you are reading this review to see if going crazy on an expensive trashcan is for you...I say yes! I have a small house, and I'm not accustom to splurging frivolously. This has been totally worth every penny.

The product itself is great once everything is in place. What I noticed when I first opened it:1) My dog can't open this trash can. Hehe...yay2) The bottom drawer isn't a drawer so much as it is it's own separate waste compartment with wheels that fits perfectly below the main waste part. This means that lifting the trash can causes the bottom to fall out because it isn't connected, so try not to lift it.3) It's still easy to get around despite the last observation because of the location of the wheels. I can't describe this too much because I can't even tell you what other trash cans do wrong, but this one does it right.4) It was a little dented when I got it. The packaging was fine, so I'm not sure if this was a problem with manufacturing or the deliverer being very aggressive with it when loading. Will be calling to see what they can do about it. As expensive as it is, I did expect it to come in better condition. The material itself seems very durable.5) SERIOUSLY MY DOG IS SO FRUSTRATED she can't get it open. It's magnificent.6) It was taller than I expected, but still a good size as its design does well in a kitchen without being hidden.

If I could give this product a 10 I would. I wish I would have had this 10 years ago. I love the compartment for compost - it makes the process so much easier! Great for beginner composters too!Super durable materials, love the modern design, and the functionality is fantastic. A well designed and made product. I wish I could buy them for all of my friends!A perfect size too!And so cute in our kitchen!And easy to clean and use.I just love it!

Love this product so much! The push button to pop the lid can be opened easily with elbow if your hands are full; ample storage below for recycling or trash bags for the unit. As you can see from my pics, you can design the outside with magnets to “disguise” a little. I’m just not a can-under-the-sink person so this product has been perfect. A little pricey but VERY easy to use/clean. Inner pieces are removable to wash and no bag is visible while in use. Clean looking!

Uno degli acquisti più belli, è bellissimo da vedere, infatti è da design.Molto funzionale, ha un grande contenitore sotto e uno grande sopra con il cestello per umido.I sacchetti in dotazione sono super resistenti, li ho ricomprati.Facile da pulire e sembra un mobile.Costicchia ma li vale tutti

I've had this bin for over a year now, it was something I wanted to get for a while and then was purchased during a flash sale on amazon. We have the liners on subscribe and save and we have the timing pretty much down so we don't really have to think about it. They are pricier than regular bin bags / generic pedal bin liners but we didn't have space for 2 bins and now we're recycling more (most notably the kids!) and using less bin bags. Also the food waste bin handles the smelly stuff so one bin liner does 2 weeks; overall it isn't costing us as much in bin bags as we thought it might.The bin looks good (guests have actually commented) and it is very easy to clean. We haven't changed the charcoal filters every 6 months but no niffs. The food bin has gone aerobic when both my partner and I were unwell and it got neglected, but there was only a vinegar smell nothing truly unpleasant. I advise against putting "wet" food in the bin as the liners break down fast. Also out floor is rather uneven so we do notice the drawer in the bottom sitting slightly wonky as a result, but still perfectly usable. Overall very happy and the bin has served us well for the first year.

Nunca pensé que estaría tan contento con un simple cubo de basura. Lo recomiendo a todo el mundo, al ser alto y poder mantener la tapa abierta facilita mucho su uso en la cocina, sobretodo al estar cocinando.El cajón inferior para el reciclaje es perfecto y desliza perfectamente.Diseño espectacular.100% recomendable.

Es un cubo caro, pero ideal para reciclar sin ocuparte media cocina. En nuestro caso optimizamos el espacio de la cocina, que es muy pequeña, gracias al cubo.Es bonito, robusto, fácil de limpiar, cómodo... Si fuera barato sería demasiado bonito para ser verdad.Yo lo tengo desde diciembre de 2017 y está perfecto. Lo he regalado un par de veces (si, no es muy glamuroso regalar un cubo de basura, pero mi madre me dijo "ha llegado una caja muy grande y cuando lo hemos abierto no sabía si ponerlo en la cocina o en el salón" :D)Muy recomendable, una inversión buena, especialmente para casas con poco espacio.
