If you need STEAM 🌧 it’s the lever under the handle!
I’ve just ironed 15 pieces of cotton flannel for a baby quilt for my coming granddaughter. Never having had a cordless iron before, but only using Rowenta irons for the past 25 years, I was deeply concerned with the bad reviews. It was unlike me not to read reviews prior to ordering, but I was in a hurry and thought I cd get by bc of the name brand. Only AFTER I ordered did I start reading reviews, and just knew it wouldn’t be working properly and wd be exchanging with a Panasonic. Well so far so good! I’m starting to wonder if ppl read the manual bc the trigger like black lever under the handle produced more steam than anyone cd want! This is what I did, 1) fill with water, place in the base, max temp, then plug the base in (will flash green in the back) 2) when it stops flashing, turn the black lever in front to steam🌧 3) iron as usual. When you want steam, pull the black lever under the handle...tons of steam. When your done needing steam, let go of black lever...no steam 4) place iron in base, reposition fabric, pick up iron and start again! 5) when finished, unplug, pour out water, place black lever in front back to center position so it won’t leak water, and place back on base. It honestly was easy peasy! Rowenta didn’t let me down! I shoulda known hahaha! Pic#2 black steam lever under handle Pic #3 lever in front

Do not buy. Very bad product.
I bought this Rowenta iron because I needed a cordless iron. My first Rowenta cordless iron didn't work well, but I decided to give it another chance and bought a second exactly same one. Since Rowenta is a good product, I decided to purchase this brand instead of a Panasonic cordless iron which is another good brand and which I had previously. However the iron beeps intermittently and is very annoying at times especially if I am working late at night. I have others in my household and even they can hear the beeping. This beeping which serves a purpose, I guess, should be optional to be turned on and off and not permanent as it is now. Additionally the iron does not heat up like it should as the sensor does not work properly. Furthermore in contacting Rowenta directly, I have no follow up service. Finally, a month ago, less than a year after I bought the product, the iron completely broke down by not heating up at all. If I could give this item a minus rating I would. So far no one from Rowenta has responded to my question as to where to get it fixed. BTW, it's made in china not Germany.

Great Iron
We love this iron. It’s functionality is great. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of two things. I wish it stayed heated longer before it has to benaced back down and 2nd the dial for the temp control is in a bad spot. It’s easy to adjust the temp without knowing because when you grab the handle sometimes you accidentally hit the temp control.

Cordless iron
Being cordless was a must for me. The iron doesn't stay hot a long time but for quilting it works okay. The steam feature works great. The auto shutoff is wonderful. All in all it works for what I ordered it for. If you are trying to just iron non-stop, I wouldn't recommend it.

Try again, Rowenta!
It was a bit wonky to use in my opinion being as though the handle is not fully connected to the body of the iron, just the upper portion of the handle is connected to the rest of the iron giving it this unbalanced feel similar to picking up a kettlebell. Other than that, I returned because I couldn’t register this product that I spent hundreds of dollars on...why would I just trash my warranty like that?!

Quality iron, poor QC of condition of iron
The product i received looked like a return that was repackaged. The iron had a sticky substance on the plate and all over the metal. The tank had water in it as well. No protective film on the plate.Love the iron, just poor quality check prior to shipping.

Good Idea. Just needs some work.
Not exactly the best product I have ever bought on here. I do a lot of online shopping and I know how annoying iron cords can be. But, when I came across this item I thought it would simplify my life a little. But, despite reading the instructions several times. I found this product to be very confusing. Despite charging it overnight, it did not hold a charge and the instructions were very limited on how to use the item. Moreover, the instruction booklet contained several different languages, including, English. But, they were not very detailed. This is a great idea. But, overall it needs some work. It has a long way to go before I would consider using it on a regular basis.

Cordless Iron for Quilting
A significant amount of research was done before deciding to buy a cordless iron, so, I'll skip over all of the caveats of these irons in general. The biggest issue I have with this item is when the power goes out. When the power goes out, the unit powers itself on while sitting in the cradle. So, suddenly you smell burning. After about the 5th time this has alarmed the house, we now know its because this device more or less defaults to 'on and hot'.For quilting, the amount of time it stays hot before needing to be placed back on the base seems to be usable... for now...
