Hello, it is just one, the picture is showing two sides as Vacant and Occupied. So sorry for the confusion.

Q: Does this item slide easily and quietly? I am looking to use it in a classroom that has a bathroom in it; I want something with minimal noise.

It does slide quite easily, but not loosely. Also we added our own label to it for our use: alarm on/ alarm off. Because it is not loose it stays in place. It is not noisy.

Q: Can you take out the vaccant and occupied and put in your own signs?

It’s not designed to easily remove the signs. But with a flat tip screwdriver, it can certainly be dissassembled and reassembled with custom inserts.

Q: Description refers to "self-adhesive tape" while comments refer to Velcro. Which is it?
