Yes. But you would have to use something like Mod Podge to give it some tooth. I am assuming the jar is glass. Do with that said I would use oil based paint markers

Watercolor is a soft pigment mixed with water to gently stain the surface of the paper. The pigment is not used in a solid form and is mostly transparent. Water colors are applied to wet paper as Acrylic is applied to a dry prepared canvas or a durable surface. Acrylic is water resistant and stain resistant and watercolor is apt to bleed and dissolve if gotten wet. Acrylics are forgiving as you can paint over the top of the old color and change the image, while watercolor is not as forgiving. Once your watercolor is painted, no changes can be made, the layers over the top will add more to the undercoat and change the picture all together.
