VIVOTEK IP8332-C 1MP D/N H.264 Weather-proof Network Bullet Camera

I've had a IP8332 for over 3 years and have not had to do anything to it since it was first set up (except clear away the occasional spider web). It just works. The image is great during the day and passable at night.This experience prompted me to buy another one a couple months ago, though I had to do some research to see if the IP8332-C was the same as the IP8332 I already had. Turns out it was the same camera, just a different bracket. This new bracket is a huge upgrade from their previous bracket: mounts flush and is much sturdier. The camera is much less susceptible to movement with this bracket, and if you can get the other side of the wall, you can completely hide the cable.

Excellent video quality. IP66 case is very protective and after a year of being 10 feet from the ocean (a very caustic environment) shows no signs of damage.Few things that make this less than perfect:1) The IR (night vision) has some ghosting (because of the lens).2) The motion detection is VERY challenging to properly setup (I'm still struggling.)3) When it does detect motion, it can only record 4 seconds of video.Issues 2&3 are corrected by using external software (Ex: Blue Iris) but in that case, you could go with cheaper cameras that do not have the built in capabilities.Also, note the size of the camera. They are bullet, but much larger than what you might expect.Overall I do recommend these cameras.

I am very happy with this camera. I am just beginning to get into a networked surveillance system for my home. I do not have any prior experience with IP cameras, so I cannot make any comparisons. This is the first IP camera I have purchased to use with the Synology Surveillance Station software that was bundled with my networked-attached storage. Set-up was very easy and all controls via the Synology software appear to work. I have also tested with the Synology mobile app "DS Cam". Camera is solidly built and documentation is much better than I have seen researching other consumer-oriented brands. I am connecting via Cat 5e cable and PoE using a Trendnet PoE power injector (also bought from Amazon) between my router and the camera. I have not yet installed in permanent location, but I am not expecting any problems. I have not set up the motion detection yet. I have read that it can be tricky to balance the motion sensitivity against background detail and such. The user interface when connecting directly to the camera via browser also very good. No complaints or concerns.

I had to revise my review, as initially this camera was a bit of a disappointment for me. I had some real problems with the night vision quality. But after calling customer service they walked me through changing the night sensitivity and now it is great. As a matter of fact, I caught the perp that has been entering our cars at night (Third picture I added). The second photo shows the night video quality before the modifications. The video quality during the day is flat excellent.As other reviewers mentioned, it is very hearty for outdoor conditions and easy to install on the building and on your network. I've tried it with both PoE and with an AC plug, and settled on the later. The camera worked fine both ways.I have to give this 5 stars and highly recommend, particularly when paired with some blue iris software.

This camera is exactly the same as Vivoteks IP8332 but it has a really robust integrated mount that houses the wires within it. No external cables or conduit required. The IP8332-C is designed for wall mounting where as the regular IP8332 is for mounting under eves. Both are great camera's i've installed quite a few, you can't beat the value for a high end industrial grade IP camera
