Q: Are they still using rice syrup as the sweetener or did they change it? kind of missing out on a market for paleo/aip/grain free dieters.

Yes, It is Brown Rice Syrup . I'm not familiar with the requirements of a paleo/aip/grain free diet ...but I would imagine that rice (being a grain) would definitely disqualify it from your diet . Their main focus is no tomatoes in the recipe .
