Pretty good value
This seems to be made of glue and sawdust, but I like it anyway. Makes it more affordable. Puts out good heat, too.

TV stand with a little storage and ambiance to boot!
I read all the review on this pretty carefully and decided it was worth ordering. The boards for the cabinet come in one box that is the length and width of the cabinet (with a little extra for packaging materials) and about a foot high. This box is HEAVY and requires two people to lift. FedEx left it in my driveway and I couldn't even budge it (I'm 53 and small so that's not a huge surprise but my daughter's very athletic boyfriend couldn't move it alone either). Be sure you have someone to help you get it in the house! The fireplace itself comes in a separate box and isn't too heavy. It took us about an hour to assemble the whole thing. I highly advise laying out all the pieces with the "letters" showing to move things along quickly. I also recommend an electric screwdriver instead of the supplied wrench but set it to the lowest/slowest setting. Some parts might feel a bit wobbly as you put it together but it's all tight when it's done. Some pieces such as the insides of the shelves/cupboards could have used an additional coat of paint but this isn't high end furniture and all the outside pieces were painted fine. This really is a WHITE white. Not at all off white or gray white. The fire - it looks most realistic on the lower settings. I haven't tried it out long enough to see how much heat it produces since it's summer and my AC is on!I really am pleased overall and am glad I purchased this to go in my living room.

nice piece- a few flaws
I read all the reviews of this item and felt confident buying it. I have to say I love the look of this piece, and the fireplace does throw off a nice amount of heat. I do feel the piece is priced a little high for something you have to put together yourself. I was anxious to get it together, so I did the whole cabinet without any help. It took me about two hours. When my husband got home, he helped me insert the firebox, and he had to screw that in because there were no pre-drilled holes for that, and I couldn't do it. I agree with one reviewer that there are slight gaps where the corners line up, but I also don't think it's such a big deal that I would return it. The one thing that did bother me was in the back panels there were partially cut out circles to run wires through. They needed to be punched out totally to get the wires through, but when I tried to do that, some of the white paperboard ripped. I put items on the shelves so you can't really see it. They should have just punched the holes out completely for the consumer. It's a heavy piece, seems sturdy, and I hope I have many years of use out of it.

Excellent quality, love, love, love this piece - it's now the focal point of our family room!
Excellent quality, lots of "real" wood used, virtually flawless EXCEPT mine had two very small dings on the front edge, barely noticeable but an email to the manufacturer got a quick response and a new "top" sent out to me - honestly the hassle of changing the top is hardly worth the effort but at some point I will change it. The dings probably occurred prior to shipping because the packaging was excellent on this - lots and lots of styrofoam and padding. VERY easy to put together, took less than an hour. Heavy, so you will need help but most of it is put together already, only 6 major pieces and the shelves, that's it. The Fedex man did not enjoy lugging it off his truck however.Fireplace: I've seen better flames but it does give off a nice ambiance and glow - the flicker is a little too predictable for me but I'm just looking at it too closely - when you get used to it, you don't really notice any pattern. Lots of features on the fireplace including a backlight and variable illuminations, all controlled by a remote, make this entire purchase an excellent deal. Have not really tried out the heater yet but I'm sure it will be nice to "take the chill off" once it gets cold out. Made in America quality.

DO NOT BUY!!!
POORLY CONSTRUCTED AND PACKAGED!When I received my items:*the top panel trim on the left side was coming off, there was a dent in the middle, and the trim on the right side was barely hanging on*the base panel was cracked in the front*the upper firebox trim was broken (piece that supports the top panel beneath the television and above the firebox insert)*the 2 back panels had either a large vertical scratch or had a hole*multiple discolorations (white where it should be black) and scratches throughout every piece*Assembly guide included with the fireplace insert but not for the entertainment center (I had to Google search for it and found it on the Home Depot website.)I beg you. Please do not buy this item! It is NOT worth the money and you might as well invest in an already assembled/mostly assembled fireplace/entertainment center locally. I called Cymax to get a WHOLE product replacement and they wanted pictures of the damages, which I sent. Although Cymax claimed it was a whole product replacement, Real Flame DID NOT send out a whole product replacement but only sent the replacement parts after reviewing my claim. Unfortunately, some of the replacement parts did not screw properly with the original parts that I had already. Also, the left side of the top panel was beginning to come off just like the original top panel that was being replaced. Since I tried to assemble the fireplace, it is not in it's original condition. Hence I did not even bother with returning it, getting up to 50% of the price paid, and deducting even more for shipping the item back to Cymax. Needless to say, I threw everything away out of sheer frustration and bought an electric fireplace/entertainment center from Havertys.A complete disaster, waste of money, and time!!!
