I do not know what you mean by "detox your colon" but the tea does not have laxative properties per se. It is formulated to lower blood sugar and it does that very well. Ginger is good for your stomach and has anti inflammatory properties; lavender is a healing herb and also has a calming effect; fennel is an anti-oxidant. turmeric will help with pain and the dandelion root may help with weight loss. When your blood sugar is normalized, you will not have food cravings, which in turn can facilitate weight loss. But the action is slow so don't expect anything over night. It is good hot or cold and actually works. But be careful and mindful because your blood sugar might drop dangerously low. I love it, and it is well worth the money. Hope this helps.
