Silicon Power 16GB Jewel J80 USB 3.0 Flash Drive, Titanium (SP016GBUF3J80V1T)

This flash drive is perfect for the applications that I use it for. I am an upper level engineering student and value portability, speed, and durability. This item covers all those aspects and then some. I have this flash drive clipped onto my keys so that I always have it available for use. The metal construct is a huge pro, as my last flash drive was plastic and snapped off my keychain. I know that there is not a likely chance of that happening with this drive. This is a huge relief because I, like many people, carry their entire life on a flash drive; everything from school work, important photos, to music and entertainment.Having USB 3.0 connectivity is great, especially when working with large CAD or 3D modeling programs. I can quickly load, save, and transfer any information that I may need in my day to day use. The only problem that I have run into is the fact that some computers in my building won’t recognize the drive, more fault of the computer itself, when plugged into the 3.0 ports. This is a slight annoyance; however the drive still works with the USB 2.0 ports due to backwards compatibility.The only negative thing I can think of, and it is a small one that is really just nit picking, is that the finish tends to get scratched pretty easily. The majority of the damage is from being in constant contact with the keys the drive shares a clip with. However, there are marks where the drive connects to USB port.For the price of this drive, you are granted with excellent construction, high speed data transfer, and an easy to use item. I would highly recommend this drive to others who are looking for a more resilient drive to protect their information.

This is the best USB drive I have ever owned. It is fast. It is durable. It has a great functional design. And it is affordable for a product of such good quality.I do not need a ton of storage, but rather I need a USB flash drive that is capable of standing up to mobile usage. Life happens and life can be hard on electronics. Many USB drives have poor functional designs...whether it is a case that is not durable, a bulky frame that makes it hard to fit in some USB ports, caps that get too loose and then fall off, or flash memory of disappointing quality, they all can contribute to loss of productivity. I once lost critical data when the key ring attachment broke off from the flash drive and the flash drive was lost. That was a total and complete nightmare, and it ultimately costed me time and money.These Silicon Power Jewel drives are excellent flash drives and they meet my needs in every way. The case is built from metal, so it does not crack like plastic and has good crush resistance. There is no cap to lose, and the design can account for the dust buildup from being cap-less. Rather than coming with a keychain ring, the flash drive IS the ring, in a solid 1-piece design (for obvious reasons this is a huge plus for me.) With a super, super small profile, fitment is easy and these do well if in a hub that does not space the ports very far apart. With shock and water resistance, the SP Jewel drives are ready to withstand the conditions that can come with mobile usage.With a functional design that is very please, flawless performance so far, fantastic data transfer speeds, and reasonable pricing, I highly recommend these Silicon Power flash drives.

The device itself is nice and small, seems to be very well built, so all of that is fine; however the software and manuals bundled on the dongle are out of date, not very clear what one is supposed to do with it, so they need to greatly improve on that.I seem to recall the manual provided for this hardware on their own device was more than five years old, so I didn't even bother clicking on that. The free software included to recover deleted files actually worked (I tested it on the flash drive itself to see what the result would be).I had to get portable browsers from somewhere else which made it more difficult to set up for my elderly traveling mother. That type of stuff should already be on the device for people to use or get rid of as they see fit.Since I am a huge fan of "plug and play" and SanDisk used to have a device that included much easier access to portable apps (maybe I should have gone with them instead, who knows), I was somewhat disappointed in Silicon Power not delivering in that particular department.Every maker of these removable drives should presume that many customers may want to use it for portability; not everyone owns laptops and since thumb drives are often used for security purposes, I was really hoping the device would have done all I wanted much easier instead of me having to spend 3+ hours playing around with the Google Chrome App browser and LastPass Portable App password software!Hope to see them improve in the future.

Fits on your keychain ring so you can back up files/documents on-the-go and on-the-fly. I have several backup devices, ranging from small USB flash drives to a NAS server, and this Jewel J80 is another great addition to my storage solutions.It comes formatted in FAT32, but since I deal mostly with a Windows environment, I reformatted it to NTFS. It still works with any Linux-based machines I may use (Ubuntu, OpenSuse, AlienVault, Surricata, etc.).While the purpose is strictly utilitarian in nature, it still has an eye-catching design. It is slim and unobtrusive on my keychain, but has a nice luster on the metallic finish.Overall, I like Silicon Power flash drives--this is the third or fourth I've purchased, although the others are larger in size and capacity.

Amazing solid built. Very durable with good transfer speeds. Best is so easy to carry around in your key-chain so that you will never forget it.It does gets some scotches when you put in the key-chain but going strong even after receiving few drops. Also its mentioned that its water residents and I think thats why it carries such high premium than other 16GB USB 3 pen drives.

This drive is fast and has worked well on every machine I've used it with. Small and durable, ring allows me to keep it on my keys and always have it with me. It's been great

Muy buena usb, el material, peso y funciones son excelentes, algo que me quedó a deber fue la velocidad de transferencia pero de ahí en fuera es una excelente usb la recomiendo ampliamente
