Q: Has anybody use this to mic a guitar amp?

I bought this mic primarily as a stage prop and was pleasantly surprised with its sound. One could definitely use it to mic a guitar amp.

Q: Does it sound like a old microphone?

The microphone has a good sound. It does not sound "old". There are better choices (perhaps) if you are doing a recording studio but you will be pleasantly surprised at how good the sound quality is.

Q: A reviewer has stated he cannot connect it to a stand as there is no threads in the mount... How is it connected to a stand please?

The ones I received were threaded

Q: does it use a usb, audio jack, or somthing else for connection to device?

XLR cable and a phantom power supply is required
