Great product!
I rarely write reviews and never include photos but I had to for this product.I was skeptical about the idea of co-wash shampoo. But since menopause I have been fighting a war with my hair. I workout daily and feel I have to wash my hair. Rinsing isn’t enough. My hair is either dry and unmanageable or limp.Today I tried this and I love it. It feels so cool and refreshing on the scalp. I love the scalp massager. It rinses well and my hair felt perfectly clean and conditioned.I styled my hair using my usual products - a smoothing serum and a bit of root lifter. My hair has body and shine. It feels soft and manageable and no flyaways in my face! It’s a bit pricey but it was worth it! I highly recommend.

This cleanser is magic.
I love this. For years I had been sad that my once super curly hair was going straight. I was told by stylist after stylist that it was just part of aging. Your hair gets dry and this happens to “mature hair”. I’m in my mid-ish 40s. 🙄 I had a new stylist use this on my hair and wow! I bought some and within a couple of weeks my curl was back. I have been using this for a little over a year. Now to address some of the issues I see listed: First off, it won’t make your hair fall out. That whole thing has been completely disproved by science. The worst that will happen is your hair will be greasy if you don’t rinse properly. Rinsing properly is a must (the directions for running your hands over it like a squeegee while rinsing aren’t there for show).Second, you need to make sure your hair is sopping wet. The cleanser is very slippery and much easier to use when it’s activated with the water. I used to cut it with distilled water until I realized the wet hair was the key and started to use much less per wash. Also the finger-tip scalp massage is important to get the cleanser all the way down and make sure everything gets clean. If you have never used anything like this, or are used to washing your hair every day, you will experience a transition as your scalp won’t know to stop producing so much oil at once. It’s easier for people with short curly hair to go through this transition. I know. Just do it.I use this probably once a week, with just wetting and conditioning between. If there is product residue from a week of styling, I may use a gentle sulfate free cleanser the wash before this one. It’s amazing stuff, but doesn’t always cut through the goop that builds up from curly girl styling products.I can 100% see a difference when I run out of this. My hair starts to go straight and sticks out like straw rather than falling into soft ringlets like it usually does. I just used it for the first time since running out a month ago. I can’t stop touching my hair and playing with all the curls that showed up just from scrunching with a curl creme.I am a generic kind of girl. I don’t need fancy. But this, l’occitane hand cream, and... that’s it. That may be all I require for high end anything. I dislike being without either of these things!

It's Magic for me, so I'd say worth a try!
This is a long review.I'm smitten with this product. I have very straight, fine hair and some scalp issue (tangent: not sure what it is, but it's nearly constantly itchy with tender red patches, but no dandruff, doesn't seem to change depending on climate, been struggling with it for 4 or 5 years). Dermatologist once prescribed me some topical steriods to "see if it helps," which means he didn't know/didn't care what the issue actually is (tangent: crappy health insurance), which did nothing to help, along side the other countless home treatments and products I've tried over time. I recently fell in love with the @jayne_edosalon IG account, and she's constantly singing Hair Story's praises. I don't typically spend a ton on hair care products, but I got a wild hair (pun intended) and ordered the Pre Wash, New Wash, and Hair Scrubber set and was excited to try.So first, the pre wash, which has a hydrogen peroxide smell to it. Used scrubber to get it in there good and it felt great, like a little massager. Didn't know what I was missing there. Left that on 3 or 4 minutes as directed, then rinsed for the New Wash. The smell sold me. It's giving the rosemary mint Aveda shampoo I fell in love with at the salon back in the early 90s, but with some rosiness, but not like an overwhelming amount. Very subtle. I saw a post that recommended the amount of shampoo and conditioner you typically use in one wash and combining those for each new wash, so I did that. It felt like a lot; borderline wasteful. Used the scrubber, rinsed thoroughly. The same post said you'll notice "new movement" in your hair, and I honestly could see and feel it even before it dried. I towel-dried which is what I usually do before bed, brushed it and had no tangles, and scrunched it into shape - I'm trying to rock a toned-down shag so I shaped my bangs, tried to get some natural wave into the length just for some bounce, which I struggle to acheive, and combed my cowlick how I *dream* it will lay, but it never does. The lingering scent and gentle wake of the head massage action lulled me to sleep. In the morning, my hair was like PERFECTLY how I'd styled it the night before. My bangs rocked, my cowlick was nearly undetectable, my ends had shape. My hair was glistening and almost WISPY instead of being stuck together and heavy. When I use my fingers to zhuzh it up at the roots, it actually worked, not a usual thing for me! My scalp continued to feel itchy throughout the day, but it was more often a phantom itch, like a habit of reaching up to scratch and then pleasantly realizing it's not actually that itchy. And when I did scratch, my scalp was noticeably less sensitive so it didn't hurt. I really feel like this stuff was made for me.I'm stoked to try more products, but the ONLY thing I'm not stoked on is the price. So I'd give 4.75-4.9 stars if I could. I don't see my bottle of New Wash or Pre Wash lasting very long. But it could just be the price I'm willing to pay.
