Q: Can someone explain to me what the point of a 3/8" hose is if the 1/4 male NPT fittings crimped on the hose have a 1/8" tiny opening?

There's some misunderstanding here which requires a quick trip back to high school physics. The flow rate and pressure of a liquid (or in this case a flowing gas) is reduced over the length of the hose/pipe in which it flows. So given a constant pressure at the inlet, both the volume and pressure at the outlet is decreased as a function of the distance of travel. One way to overcome the negative impact of using a longer air hose is to give it a larger internal diameter. You can do that without changing the size of the inlet/outlet ports and still gain the advantage. In other words, the longer your hose, the larger ID you need it to have in order to maintain the desired outlet pressure. Because this is a 50' hose, you would not want anything less than 3/8", and depending on the tool it might do better with 1/2" ID. You can still run 1/4" NPT fittings and you'll get a flow rate and pressure similar to what you'd get with a short 1/4" ID hose.

Q: 50' come on this reel but for the people who have bought it, anyone tried to put a 100' hose on this Really? Does it fit? Do you think it will fit?

I don't think you will be pleased with 100 ft on reel. I put another 25 ft on mine (75 total)and it seems rather full. 100 ft may slide off the sides.

Q: can this be used for a pressure washer?

You can buy a similar manual hose reel and a whip that will work for a pressure washer (psi may be limited). I have a similar set up with my 1900psi electric washer and its yet to fail me. In fact the actually pressure washer hose burst while the rest remains intact.
