I bought this to replace an older strip type light, The difference in brightness really is excellent.I found it easy to install.It is a little bulkier than the one I replaced but that only seems to give a better light on the mirror.This has a 2 year warranty and the seller has been in contact ( after 6 months)to check that all is ok .I am very happy with this and I would certainly buy another one if needed.

It took me a while to get this installed, but now it's installed I'm very pleased with the result.It's not 'bling' but then the seller isn't charging 'bling' prices and I didn't need something fancy, I just needed a basic light that has a shaver/electric toothbrush socket and it performs these functions beautifully. One thing should be noted though, this is a 'socket switch' light, not a pull-string light, which is alright for me, because it is hung quite high over an alcove sink, but I'd be careful about putting this anywhere it might risk getting wet.

I think this light is very well made and good value. The body is heavier and more substantial than I expected. The electrical socket has a good spring-loaded cover and will take standard size UK 3-pin plug as well as 2-pin shavers.

Three stars may be generous as the LEDs did not work when the light was first installed. The supplier did their best to be helpful and sent a spare LED strip but I had to wait weeks while it travelled across China to Hong Kong and thence to the UK.The light is built on a sturdy steel base (hence earth wire required) but some of the design detail could be better and there were mistakes in the assembly. For example the fixing screws go through round holes, instead of right-angled slots, so that adjusting the light to the horizontal was not possible.Plugging into the shaver socket is very stiff so I used bigger fixing screws and wall plugs than those supplied which would probably have worked loose.The internal wiring was inconsistent between live and neutral, though in practise this would probably not have mattered. A fuse is included but no isolating transformer. The power socket is permanently connected; the switch only works the LEDs. Note that the switch is a rocker type, not a pull-cord, so shorter family members may have trouble reaching it.The instruction sheet is dreadful but advises that "common sense should be used". It does not give the distance between the fixing screw holes, nor point out that the holes are asymmetrically positioned - I did not have enough "common sense" to realise this at first glance, so my light is off-centre above the mirror.The overall appearance is fairly neat if somewhat marred by the industrial-looking power socket.After the struggle to set it up the light now provides a powerful illumination in a light that is not too blue.

This is absolutely not a masterpiece of contemporary design, but a rather large, lumpy and old fashioned looking thing, which would struggle to blend into a modern bathroom; it is more suited to the style found in films featuring run down looking 1970's Eastern block hotels, along the lines of the recent dramatisation of "Chernobyl". I'm sure it probably functions perfectly and gives off loads of light, but it wasn't going to get the chance to shine in my house! This item was returned.

This light is easy to install, with farly clear instructions included in the box. The light is very effective and safe as used in a bathroom. I prefer the proper on/off switch, which is much better and longer-lasting than pull-cord switches, where the cord can fray and the switch is prone to breaking or jamming.
