I ordered this for my eight year-old grandson’s birthday party at parkour a gymnastics place. He had a Star Wars theme. These went in the goodie bags that we made for all the kids. They absolutely love them. I also bought a Star Wars backdrop and a life-size Star Wars Darth Vader so we had them all take pictures with their lighted up sabers

The kids absolutely loved it. It was sturdy and had different light up colors. Loved how it made sounds when you play fight. Perfect for a 5 year old party. Girls loved them too!

The device does not appear to utilize an accelerometer so that the sound effect fluctuates with movement as I hope. However it does make varying sounds in conjunction with impact. The harder the impact, the more intense the sound. I have yet to test its durability. All in all, it is a good bargain.

I'll admit that I got these on a lark for some silliness in my office -- a bunch of engineers ranging in age from mid-20's to mid-*mumblety*. (Let's just say that I've got grown kids older than more than half of my co-workers, and leave it at that, okay?)No, these aren't "official" Disney/StarWars sanctioned toys, so they don't have quite the sound effects you might be expecting. And they're made of plastic, not heavy aluminum like some fancy cosplay units you can find. On the other hand, they cost a couple of bucks each in a 12-pack, they light up and make plenty of goofy noises, and are absolutely perfect for annoying management and having silly battles in the workplace. And isn't that really all that matters?These units probably won't take a lot of abuse by really young kids, since they are just plastic. But if the kids aren't beating each other over the head, or smacking rocks with them, they should actually hold up pretty well. They certainly have for us so far, and we haven't exactly been gentle with them over the past few weeks.Short version: for the cheap price for the box of 12, it's a really good deal. Perfect for a kid's party, or just to have on hand to entertain some kids. (Or annoy their parents! Ha.)

I have found the secret to keeping kids entertained at a large family gathering!I had 28 people over my house for Thanksgiving. Six of them young kids with a ton of energy even before the sugar overload of desert. I bought this 12pk of lightsabers and surprised the kids, sending them out into the yard for a Jedi battle. They LOVED them. They light up and make sounds. They ran around dueling with those things for over an hour! Worth every damn penny. AND now the kids look forward to a new Thanksgiving tradition---epic Star Wars lightsaber battle!

Alrighty, Last March when my youngest turned 18, we were just entering our 10th day of total nationwide lockdown (covid).. needless to say his special day wasn't so special except the week before he saw me leap across the isle to grab the last pack of cream cheese so I could make him a cheesecake since we didn't need toilet paper like so many others. This year despite still having covid restrictions, I was able to bring a huge smile to his face and some nostalgia with a Star Wars theme birthday party with his sister, BIL and thier kids (M4, F2) and of course a new cheesecake! These lightsabers are great, they are plastic with extending "saber" part and go to "full" size. They come with batteries and ready to use right out of the box. With 12, they cost about $4.25 each and you can't find that low price in any store. The sounds and lights make everything a blast while playing with them. They held up well with the toddlers and even the adults. We all need a little "play time" and these will help you find the laughter. He plans on taking the rest back to college in the fall so he and his roommates can go to a galaxy far far away, Highly recommend to purchase

The media could not be loaded. I paid $54 (including tax) for 12 of these lightsabers. I found some about $15 dollars less without sound but decided to risk it for this version. I am SO glad I did. These light sabers are really cool looking but the sound effects make the toy. I have included a short video of sound showing that each strike produces a different sound. It cycles between 3 or 4 sounds. 3 different color options for saber. No green :( but other than that very cool. You can flick your wrist to extend the saber but as you can see it isn’t very stable that way. However if you give a short tug at the end it does stay extended just fine. My husband and I did a mock battle with a couple of them and they took some hard hits without breaking. We will see how they fair with our 3 yr old grandson in a couple of weeks. All and all a very good quality item for the price. We are really happy with them.
