Genki 1 Third Edition: An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese 1

Great for entry level japanese

It's good and helpful for learning japanese with a tutor or a friend

One of the best textbooks to learn Japanese from. It is also used in actual Japanese schools and classes from what I’ve been told. I highly recommend it but I feel you should learn your hiragana, katakana and basic kanji first before getting into it. Highly recommend it.

The media could not be loaded. The edges were ever so slightly dented but nothing big, seems full of content :-) A bit too expensive though

This is a great addition for your collection of Japanese language books, apps and other learning materials. Full of well explained lessons and information plus exercises in speaking Japanese.I’d recommend learning hiragana and katana before using this book as it is vital for reading it.

My daughter has been teaching herself Japanese and requested this book, she states that after researching books, this is one that most people, including some Japanese people, recommended. My daughter has been using the book for a few weeks and she says it has helped her a lot.

I had heard that the third edition was an improvement over the second; and, having seen both, I have to agree. The courses are much clearer; easier to understand, and I am glad to be able to use these. It makes Japanese much easier to learn, either in a classroom situation, or individually. I am glad that I bought it.

The book is a little heavy but that's to be expected with a chunky book, it came with no bumps or rips or anything which is also to be expected and I'm glad that that's the case. The only thing I would say I'm upset about is the price, but that's out of my control unfortunately. I am now moving onto Genki 2 (The green book) so I thought I would give this product a review before moving on.
