🎬 Capture the Moment, Anywhere!
The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K is an incredibly tiny Ultra HD studio camera that’s perfectly designed for live production. You get a full Ultra HD resolution camera that can be used in HD and Ultra HD video formats and it can be fully controlled from the switcher via the SDI control protocol. Micro Studio Camera 4K includes powerful features such as built in color corrector, talkback, tally indicator, PTZ control output, built in microphones, backup battery, an adaptable MFT lens mount and B4 lens control output. This means Micro Studio Camera 4K is a true studio camera that is dramatically better quality than the biggest and most expensive studio cameras used today. The small size and completely open design of the Micro Studio Camera 4K makes it perfect for any live multi camera production! It’s virtually invisible and can be hidden just about anywhere on set, giving you the ability to have more camera angles than ever before so you can create a more interesting program. You can even hide them on stage to get incredible shots of live performances or, because they’re so small, safely fly them overhead during sporting events. It can also be used in the studio by rigging it with a professional broadcast lens and a Blackmagic Video Assist for monitoring.Blackmagic 3G-SDI Shield for ArduinoThe Blackmagic 3G-SDI Shield for Arduino is an Arduino expansion board or “shield” that makes it possible for anyone to develop their own custom control solutions for Blackmagic Design cameras. UNO boards made by Arduino, Adafruit, Sparkfun, Freetronics and Seeedstudio are popular low cost open source micro controller platforms used by developers and enthusiasts. The Blackmagic 3G-SDI Shield for Arduino attaches to these platforms and then supports inserting camera control commands into the 3G‑SDI link to the camera.

Words fail to describe the quality of this camera
I am on camera pretty much all day, and I insist on a high quality image being transmitted to my clients. Most clients feel I am in the studio and there is $100,000 Panaflex camera filming me.I can't say enough about the camera both from a quality build and component capability.

Solid Camera for Live Production
We own 7 of these cameras and use them for a wide variety of live production scenarios, providing us with a low cost option for getting unique camera angles. We have used these to cover sports as well as a wide variety of corporate and other productions, and they are particularly great when combined with an ATEM 1 M/E or ATEM 2 M/E switcher that provides camera control. With fast lenses, you can get good performance in a variety of lighting conditions, though my one complaint about the camera is that I wish it had a bit more sensitivity for lower light situations. As this is a live production camera, it does not have onboard recording, so if you plan on recording ISOs you'll need to connect an external recorder. For us, that simply means routing the signal to a Hyperdeck in our live production rack. For those that need a more remote recording option, the Video Assist is a solid product that will get the job done. One other note on the camera. Due to its small size, it doesn't have an LCD screen, so in order to interact with the menus, you'll need to connect the camera to an external display via the HDMI port. Once connected, you can then use the small buttons on the front of the camera to manage its settings. While most video settings can be controlled remotely via the ATEM video switch software (white balance, iris, shutter speed, focus, etc.), users will need to set the camera number first via the camera menu. The camera number is required in order to be able to use the CCU to manage the camera settings remotely. Hopefully in a future version of Blackmagic's ATEM software there will be an option to set the camera number remotely as well, which would certainly help make setup more efficient. With all that said, for $1300, it is a good performer that fits well into a BlackMagic Design live production environment and workflow. We have not had any issues with the sdi posts on the camera like the previous reviewer.

Great camera with outstanding video quality!
Buy this camera if price, size, features and image quality is important to you. To get the most out of this camera in live use you will need to invest in Blackmagic's production 4K switcher, but combined you have a powerful system at an affordable price! We use this combination to video our worship service and are very pleased with the quality we achieve. To get the most out of this camera you do need to purchase the best quality lens you can afford.

Buyer beware...bad support.
These cameras are not all they are cracked up to be. The menu interface is very difficult to use. Blackmagic support is not helpful. The sdi posts are very fragile. Our sdi post broke off and blackmagic would not repair it even for a fee. Without the sdi connection the camera is basically useless.I can't recommend this camera or blackmagic products after this experience.

Production camera for consumer price
About the size of a go-pro and the MFT mount makes choosing the right lens super easy. Love all the accesories and how customizable it is, only thing I would add is an internal capture card or SD card capabilities.
