What is the use by date?

These MRE's are produced on 04/23/2020. MRE packages don't have an expiration date stamped on them in the sense of a day, month, and year. Instead, they have a manufacture date of when the package was made. So unless the seal is broken on the packaging, MREs have a shelf life of about 5 years, but they may lose taste and nutritional value after long periods of time. The use by best date on these 04/02/2023 at 80 degrees storage temperature. To get the best taste and maximum shelf life store at 40 degrees for 60 months shelf life.

Did they get rid of the tobacso sauce?

Mine didn't come with Tabasco sauce.

Do you need water? If so how much?

Each meal includes a flavored drink mix like pink lemonade and an instant coffee packet, so you would need water for the drinks; the meals themselves require no water to reconstitute.
