Our office room is pretty dark so I was looking for a way to light it up and hopefully help me feel more awake and alert while I work in the evening. We already had one lamp in the room but it just wasn't doing the job. I watched a few reviews on Amazon and this one was the brightest lamp compared to the other similar-looking ones. One feature that sold me on this one over the others (besides the brightness) is the additional reading light that comes on the lamp. You can even switch the light settings and dimness on the reading light which I thought was cool.I read a few comments on here talking about the remote not working--- I almost thought we got a dud too because our remote wasn't working and I was flipping the battery to make sure it was seated correctly etc---. Had a good laugh because upon closer inspection, there is a clear wrapping on the battery. It's very thin and pretty hard to see so I am wondering if the other reviewers did not notice that the battery was wrapped and just assumed their remote was not working? So just a heads up! Please double check that there is no wrapping on your battery! My boyfriend almost threw away our remote and I'm glad that we didnt.

Very bright and slim for small spaces

These are great lamps! I started with one in my office so I could adjust light to optimize being on screen for meetings. The indirect light eliminates glare off of my glasses. Between glare on my glasses and an astigmatism, I'll never use a ring style light.Both adjustments for tone and brightness of both light sources either on the lamp or with the remote are simple. It's easy to put together. The original one is still like brand new. We have one for my daughters room, the living room, my husbands office, and just purchased another for the basement. It's incredible how much the light off the ceiling illuminates dark spaces without being offensive with an exposed bulb.The only thing I wish were better is that it will automatically turn on when plugged in. So when the power goes out and comes back on or if there's a power flicker, our house is immediately bathed in light. No so cool at 3am. Despite that, clearly we continue to purchase these versatile lamps and highly recommend them to our friends and colleagues.

After 4 years of faithful service, an electrical storm killed my favorite office lamp. After careful consideration of other lamps, I will repurchase this one again. I think it is absolutely perfect for my office, next to my desk. I love the magnetic remote and I love the dual independent lights. I only turn on the lower reading light when I am "on video" and it is convenient for highlighting my face during web meetings. Otherwise I keep only the top light on. The only con I will give this is that for the strangest reason, the default setting is on, meaning when the power goes out and come back on, the light is ON. thankfully its only in my office, so ok. But this loses 1 star because of that.

I was concerned over some of the negative reviews concerning various flaws in the lamp. I found none. On the contrary, I love this lamp. Everything functions as advertised. The remote control is handy and easy to use. The color of the light can be chosen as well as the intensity, and the indirect light from bouncing off the ceiling is pleasant as opposed to the harsh lighting seen in some lamps shining the light directly at the person. I love it's small profile. This lamp is for function, and not a design showpiece. It fits in anywhere and goes with any decor. The auxilary light is great when you need to do something close up, like polish your nails. Love it!

Our lighting was pretty poor in our apartment. I don't have to have any other light on when this is on. I love that it changes colors and brightness. The remote functions are great. Easy to set up. This lamp has become a game changer in our home. I plan on purchasing more for every room. I love the little light on the side. It works great at night for low lighting and faces our art table. The overall design and size are great. I expect this to last a long time for us.

I recently came to realize how much I enjoy having warm LED lighting with optional warm, natural, or white light. I tried out a few products in this general price range and put them into various rooms such as master bedroom, living room, home office, and mancave. This particular product is my favorite. The functionality is very flexible with tilt on the upward facing main light and flexible metal arm on the smaller reading light, each with individual controls over the temperature and the brightness.The unit I received has a very slightly different remote than shone in the current listing. They are nearly identical and the product features described are identical. The one notable difference is the one I received has the bottom-most buttons with saved settings for night-light on the main upward light and reading on the reading lamp. I presume that same functionality is available somehow. In any event, with or without that specific remote feature, you have the ability to set the appropriate modes to your personal taste. I love the range of brightness steps through 10 - 100 with 10 settings per lamp. The different color temperatures really provide amazing useful options to obtain the type of light that works best for you.The lamp is solid metal, reasonably well machined for a value-priced item, and simple to unbox, assemble in use. It took me less than a minute I think, and I am not Mr SomeAssemblyRequired. But it efficient scews together partially assembled segments that screw onto the base. Plug in and go. No qualms recommending this. I've bought two so far!I have one other smaller
