Q: Will this work with a blue yeti mic? i understand it is pretty heavy in comparison to most mics and i am not sure if threading would be the same?

Well... it’s not THAT heavy. My “guess” is that you should be able to use it just fine.

Q: Does this fit shure mics and I need it for sitting and playing guitar without falling down?

yeah i wouldn't buy this again. the knobs don't tighten enough n the boom arm is 2 pieces that keep loosening up which turns the mic pointing to the ground n then the mic falls out of the clip n hangs from the cord. spend a little more
