Q: Can this be used without batting and just the jelly roll strips?

I’m sure it could but I’ve only used it with batting snd the strips. Works great

Q: How many mm wide is this bias maker?

It is the correct width for a normal 2.5 inch jelly roll strip. It makes a strip that’s one inch wide prior to folding. It is also the ONLY bias maker that is wide enough for the standard Jelly roll strip. (It’s also very easy to use, it takes hours off making the folded strips :)

Q: Can this handle a heavier material like denim plus batting?

I have used it with heavy cotton and batting. I would think that denim wouldn't be a problem. It is a sturdy little gadget.

Q: What is the width of the tape as it comes out folded? Can this be used to make 1.25" bias tape as the fabric going in is 2.5"?

I haven't tried to make bias tape with this, but probably it would depend on the thickness of the material. This has a thick collar so you can feed 2.5" jelly roll material wrapped around 2.5 " strip batting, so it's pretty thick. The concept is the same as the bias tape makers.
