Caught more than expected
I’m old school. Chicken on a string is all I’ve ever used. But, wanted to try something new since with the kids. This is more guaranteed to catch SOMETHING, whether it’s crab or fish. I had both, there’s no way they can escape once inside and even the smallest minnows and silver dollar-sized crabs couldn’t escape. Good buy if you want to “guarantee” some action.

Good for catching small fish, including koi. Don't use the hand nets that are included.
Catches small fish easily once you get the hang of it. I use it to collect the babies from my koi pond. If you're looking to catch fish (not crabs or shrimp), I suggest baiting the traps and waiting no more than 2-3 minutes to pull them up, otherwise the fish will find their way out again. I gave it 4 stars because the small hand nets that come with it are terrible. They constantly snag on fish fins and tails and it's a pain to get the fish unstuck. Throw them out and use an aquarium net instead, if you need to.

good to catch baby koi
I bought this to catch baby koi in my pond. Seems like my large fish were very active and ended up with a hundred or so babies. They must have laid their eggs down within the grasses and lilies as I didn’t see them. I had tried catching with a net as there are way too many to keep, but that wasn’t working as well as I had hoped. So, I bought this to try. It worked great. It is very easy to set up and release the fish once trapped. As they have grown they have smartened up so back to net for me. It’s held up, no problems.

Good but not great
This works well, and is wonderfully portable.However, on ours, the zipper broke the first day. But it’s easy to secure the trap once opened by overlapping the frame. We got a small 2-3” blue crab in our trap and it made some holes in the netting. We fixed these with zip ties.Fast forward a couple months-We’ve used it about 25 times now and it’s no longer viable. We got 100’s of pinfish, mud minnows, muhara, etc… In that aspect, this paid for itself over and over. If the netting and zipper was just a tad sturdier I’d give this 4 stars.

Worth it.
Very durable and easy to use. We have caught many small fish that we use for bait. Well worth the money.

One rope is missing
The media could not be loaded. I suppose to get 2 on everything but only gave me one rope smh I waited for this for a missing rope
