Amazing Customer Service
I needed a replacement motor for my old bathroom exhaust fan. The first motor this seller sent was missing the fan blade and they sent a replacement motor immediately, before receiving the return. To make the motor work, I had a machine shop fabricate a new mounting bracket out of flat stock to replace the old broken aluminum pot metal bracket on the old fan. When the new motor arrived, I whittled down the ABS fan blade using a fat tip sharpie marker and sharp scissors. Next, I cut down the old spindle shaft and used an angle grinder to shave it down so the fan blade could slide over it with no problems (otherwise the blade will stress fracture or just break when you push it on). This allowed me to push the blade closer to the motor, so the top of the curved blades wouldn't hit the flaps that open up when the fan is on to allow steam to escape. I acquired extra nuts, including lock nuts and lock washers so I could raise the motor above the flat stock bracket. This allowed me to insert a new bolt into the old spot where the old cover mounts over the ceiling tiles to hide the fan apparatus from site. I used a lock washer and lock nut to hold that bolt onto the flat stock. I pushed the motor in place to make sure the hand-spun blades weren't going to hit anything, then pulled it out to oil the flaps above. I had already acquired several lengths of machine screws with lock washers and socket heads so I could use a socket ratchet to screw them in rather than a screwdriver. After a lot of effort and many cuss words, it all came together and worked beautifully. This is the first time this bathroom has had a fan in decades. No more mold and mildew on the windows in surrounding bedrooms! And I didn't have to rip out the old ceiling tiles in this 1960s era mobile home, which would have been a much bigger project, trust me on that!

Good replacement for our old bathroom vent
So our house is pretty old. Built in the 60s/70s I think. The bathroom vent/housing is one of the older round ones. Putting in a square one would require redoing the ceiling tiles, which we aren’t ready to do at this time. We couldn’t find a new housing/fan combination that would be the right dimensions. So we decided just to replace the motor/fan since that wad the main issue. We were able to remove the housing from the ceiling, and then remove the old motor. The motor bracket already had two additional holes that were the right size location for this new motor. I did have to bend the sides of the bracket out so the center of the motor would fit flush on the bracket. The only drawback to this motor is the length of the power wires. Our electrical connection was not a plug, it was just hardwired with wire nuts. I had to crimp an extra 6” of wire onto the leads because there wasn’t enough slack to go through the hole for the electrical box and then connect to the wires in the ceiling. I think the company could have made the wire connection atleast 12-15”, since not everyone will have the same electrical situation. Even if I had installed an AC plug, it wouldn’t have been long enough. Keep that in mind when you install, you might need a little extra added onto the motor wires.Other than that, it’s about the same sound level as our old fan/motor, but I do think it moves a little more air than our old one did. Will see how fogged up the bathroom mirror gets after a hot shower.

Barely fit my 45 year old NuTone 8870-A
My NuTone 8870-A is at least 45 years old. This unit aligned to the mounting bracket correctly, but the fan blades barely cleared the housing. The plastic fan blades don't have quite as much pitch to them as my original metal fan blades. It's quieter, but doesn't move as much air.

Perfect fitment.
Perfect fitment on my ca. 1988 bathroom vent fan. Mounted on the existing chute hardware perfectly. It doesn't run silent like some are saying, but it's standard quiet. It's not abnormal from any other fan you've ever heard.

Loud but works well
Easy to install but plastic fan cracked trying to put it on shaft. I used the old metal fan that was on the other motor I replaced. This is powerful but very loud.
