Do NOT buy this product. After researching fridge locks for our toddler for quite a while, We decided on this one. The installation process was simple and the glue that holds it on is 5-star. As soon as we put in on we thought it was a pretty thick Plastic piece where the seal of the fridge closes but thought it’d be ok. By the next morning, our fridge was warm but freezer was fine. We took everything out and then The fridge was cooler but the freezer was warmer. We started to think our whole fridge was about to bite the dust. We tried everything we could think of but it still was acting strange, not cooling like it should. We checked the seal around the fridge lock piece and it seemed fine. Still i finally told my husband to take it off because we found it ironic that our fridge didn’t start having any issues until we installed the lock. He took it off and by the next morning our fridge and freezer was back to normal! It was the plastic piece messing the seal up! I would never recommend this product unless you want to make your fridge overwork to keep cool. We almost went out and bought a new fridge because we thought it was going out when in reality it was just this dumb child lock we installed so DON’T Purchase this one....

This amazing little button would be worthy of 6 stars, but for one major flaw: The adhesive strip fails on textured surfaces...like most refrigerators, otherwise this is perhaps the greatest invention in the entire history of "Child-proofing". Even the smaller locks for cupboards beat the heck out of those horrible knuckle busting cupboard locks...and while the adhesive dots work well on a perfectly smooth cupboard surface, the strip provided for this larger refrigerator lock simply does not hold on a textured surface, and unless you have stainless appliances, you most likely have textured surfaces.The overall design of this lock is pure genius, but that adheasive? A total fail, so, I am working on redsigning that piece right now, because I have a special needs nine year old in the house, and keeping the reforgerator closed has become a full time job ever since she managed to yank the entire adheasive strip clean off the refrigeartor.When I get my pull-off proof design finished, I will let you know. In the mean time, if you are simply trying to keep a toddler from opening the fridge every time he walks past, grab one of these locks while they are in stock!You can thank me later!

The media could not be loaded.  No kids around, Just wanted the freezer door to seal properly. Sometimes find the contents of this freezer are covered with “snow” because the humidity has gotten in due to the freezer door not sealing. This locking unit didn’t help. Would have helped to have a ‘rubbery’ gasket at the base of the lock for a snug fit. AND the buttons on the lock are tough for “older” fingers!

We actually loved this lock but it made it so the fridge gasket can’t seal properly and my entire inside of the fridge is covered in condensation water. It’s causing a mold problem and all my food is soaking wet. We opted to just pull it off and toss it. And I’m so disappointed because this is the best lock for the fridge we’ve ever had!
