Nice project, poor instructions
This is a really fun project. The instructions are minimal, but there is a great video tutorial if you search for "gothic dollhouse tutorial." Some tips:Make sure to have on hand: (1) an exacto knife; (2) some wood glue; and (3) some sand paper (ours didn't come with any). Also, if you are going to paint your dollhouse, it is best to paint the pieces before you've assembled them, but do NOT paint them before you punch them out of the boards. We learned the hard way that painting them makes it very hard to punch them out without breaking them. Also, make sure you do not get paint into the holes or on the tabs, because the paint makes it very hard to put together, and you'll spend a lot more time sanding the tabs down and cutting them with exacto knives. Otherwise, this was a lot of fun, and our 4-year-old got really into building it with us (adult assistance is definitely required).

The kit does not include what is advertised
There are no lights or DIY kits, only the wooden house and furniture. This matches the pictures but not the title or description.

Great for an intermediate crafter who wants to try something new!
This was a really fun project that took me about 6 hours total - from popping out all the pieces to the assembled house. God bless the folks who made YouTube videos that showed how to put this together, as the instruction just tell you "hey, match up the numbers!". What you get is pretty fantastic for the low price though, but make sure you have a craft knife, some glue, and sandpaper for this.Pros: Fun to assemble, and very easy to do with video guidance. Very little glue is necessary. Finished product looks FANTASTIC!Cons: The wood is cheap and splinters easily. Proceed carefully when popping out pieces and use fine-grain sandpaper for the rough edges. Beware of splinters. Also, the wood was a bit warped so my stairs cane out crooked, but it is what it is. :P Another big con is that all you get with the pieces are printed diagrams and four (very poorly translated) instruction steps. You're gonna have to Google "gothic Victorian dollhouse tutorial " and watch a video to understand how everything fits together. For example, part "a" is actually a shim-like kind of piece that holds things together, but you'd never know that if you went on the "instructions" alone. The part a with the hole in it is actually for the doors to sit in so they can swing open and close.All-in-all, I recommend trying this out! Kids younger than 12 may find this very frustrating, so adult help is advised. Also, glue the window frames on first. ;) Good luck and happy building!

Too hard gave up
I couldn’t put it together and neither could my sister who is really good with puzzles. Pieces didn’t fit together to stay put absolutely made no sense. Waste of money.

The Cutest Dollhouse DIY
This dollhouse was very easy to build.I enjoyed putting it together. It is a very cute house. The furniture was harder to assemble. The lock time design is very sturdy. Not wobbly at all.I painted the round window frames purple and dormer frame and all 6 of the half round bay windows.I left the rest the all natural wood.Very contrasting.I am almost finished with the roof left to assemble.I love it!
