I recently purchased the Pentair Pentek Traditional Slim Line Filter Housing, impressive performance and ease of installation.Installing the filter casing was a breeze – it was very easy and simple. works great
This was fairly easy to install under my sink to feed a filtered water faucet. Installed about 3 years ago and has worked fine, no issues. Would be nice if a mounting bracket was included. Lower cost to filter more water and can select different filters for needs. Do not have to change filter as often which is nice.

High quality no leaks at 100+ psi
I used this as a prefilter for a home made maple syrup making reverse osmosis system. It was inexpensive and the see through plastic was nice for checking filter status. I had zero leaks even after opening the housing multiple times. I also ran it at around 100-120 psi for long periods of time while running the system.

Solid construction
Using these for drying air.Added a tube to the center port, routed to the bottom and filled with desiccant.Works great!

Leaked and did not honor replacement
Leaked. There was a broken / missing chunk of plastic around the threads at the top of the clear housing, but that does not seem to be the cause. The o-ring just sits improperly in the housing. Went to replace assembly the same day, but there is no option to replace, only to return and re-order. But the price has gone up 50% in that week!!!!

Nice product, wrong thread pitch
Has a thread-pitch that is different than the one commonly found in big-box stores. Probably accounts for reports of leaks. Otherwise, it's a quality product.

Worked great. No leak so far
I had a standard opaque filter housing with ribbed top. It started leaking so I put in a new O-ring. No help. Then I greased the O-ring with silicone grease. No help. My friend told there must be a little in the housing somewhere so I bought a new filter housing. I measured the hole in each end of the leaking housing and they are 1/2 inch wide so I thought I needed a 1/2 in" filter housing. Wrong. The screw in hole in the cap of this 1/4" filter housing is 1/2 inch wide. I'm not a plumber or this is confusing to me. Perhaps the 1/4 inch refers to the tubing that is used with these. But hope this is helpful information so you don't make the same mistake. When I got this one. Worked great. No leak so far.

Check for missing o-ring!
The filter housing was missing the o-ring, and I didn't notice until after the return period expired. I was able to find the right size at work, fortunately.
