What are the washing instructions for this product?

Wash in cold water and dry on delicate or gentle cycle. No normal or high heat setting.

How does this hang on the night stand in the picture?

I don't think it will hang on a nightstand like the picture unless there's some kind of adhesive or fixtures not included with the bag. The flap goes under the mattress on a bed and this does hold the bag in place there, without adhesives, velcro etc. Mine is working very well for me this way, flap between mattress and box spring. It's really handy for me since I have a cat who likes to play with the mask when I'm not looking. Now the mask is out away. If you can put this on a bed, I recommend it.

Can you run the machine while inside the bag?

Bag only holds tube and maybe a mask harness, depending on the size of mask. You could theoretically put the machine in side the bag but you won't have room for anything else including the power cord. Would not recommend trying to carry machine in bag.
