Not even close!
This tastes like someone who has never been in the same room as alcohol was told to make an alcohol free tequila but was only given a camp fire and some leaves. It smelled and tasted extremely smokey, which is something I’ve never experienced in a tequila.Don’t do it.

An amazing alternative
Wanted to try an AF margarita with food on Cinco de Mayo. I enjoy the Spiritless bourbon, so I gave this Jalisco 55 a try.It is obviously not tequila, and the taste is not "like" tequila, though they are in the same neighborhood. Mixed into a traditional margarita the Jalisco makes a delicious AF cocktail. I could not be happier with the substitution. It might not be something I would want to drink straight and sip sangrita, but I will keep some around for a great alternative margarita.

Pass...pick another
Yuk.. the smell and the taste are so terrible.. so sad. Was really hoping would be a good option to cure that miss of tequila. Stopped drinking on Easter this year..The search continues for a drinkable non alcoholic tequila.. this one is going down the drain unfortunately 😕

I had to revise my review. From 2 stars up to 4 stars.
Well, you're not going to be doing shots.Does it taste like tequila? No.I make my own margarita mix with lime, homemade non alcoholic triple sec and homemade Skinny Simple Syrup. It's tolerable with the margarita mix, but I am not sure if it would be tolerable with any other mix.(Edit: After drinking 5 or 6 mocktails, it has grown on me. I'm still not going to be doing shots, but I will be buying more. I just wish it wasn't more expensive than my favorite tequila.)I purchased it as a tequila alternative, obviously.I'm trying to cut back on my alcohol consumption and this is either to work.

Created the Classic Margherita Non Alcohol
Don’t be shocked by the smell - it magically gives a non alcoholic margarita the classic fiinish flavor it needs.

I’d rather drink pinesol
This was probably the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. It taste like how pinesol and Dr. Bronners Castile soap smells. Even when mixed with mixers…the smell of it over power the drink. Would not commend. This would drive me to drink

Excellent packaging, mix requires experimentation
This is a very unique and quite interesting alternative mix for either non-alcohol beverages or as a mixer with alcohol. The bottle is gorgeous and very well designed and packaged. When we first corked the bottle the smell is fragrant and very strong. We sipped alone and it tasted very strong as well. It has an alcoholic, peppery flavor and you can taste what appears to be fermented agave but it's not. My husband mixed this up with a splash of tequila with some orange and a splash of ginger syrup. We shook it up and gave it a whirl and it has a really nice mix for me. My husband added a little more orange and it creates a really nice full bodied drink but with less alcohol. After sitting for a couple minutes it got even better. This is a nice quality mocktail that is definitely up for interpretation because it requires you to add and experiment based on your personal flavor preferences. This is a great sipper for me as I don't like too much alcohol because I don't want to get drunk but do enjoy the flavors this creates. I personally think this is a quality mixer and I like having it on hand. Will continue to experiment with it.

We wanted to love this. We didn’t.
A+ for marketing. D- for taste. Not sure what happened to all the reviews I’d seen previously on this product. We are cutting back on alcohol consumption and wanted to try a zero proof margarita using Jalisco 55.Our benchmark comparison recipe is 2 oz 1800 reposado, 1 oz Cointreau, 1 oz fresh lime juice, .5 oz agave nectar. Shaken vigorously. Served on ice with a dehydrated orange slice. We substituted Jalisco 55 for the tequila and Lyre’s Orange Sec for the triple sec. We kept everything else the same and added a dash of spicy ginger syrup per the guidance in the recipe book that shipped with the product. The benchmark is fantastic. The zero proof margarita was not. It was potable, but we really didn’t like it. We wouldn’t drink the whole drink. The flavor profile was not even remotely close to the benchmark. When we’re drinking alcohol again, we will try their “halfsies” recommendation to substitute half the tequila in our normal recipe and see what we think. We’ll update this review after that experiment.
