Loved this hat instantly! I soak it in water and wear it frequently. The XL 7.75" size fits slightly loose(perfect). MY NEW FAVORITE HAT! If you do not like the felt, cut it out, but it does not bother me any more than any of the other tactical headgear I have in the Texas heat. No more sunscreen for the ears! Best boonie I have worn yet. The desert MARPAT works well in central Texas, and besides, no way am I wearing a dark colored hat in the Texas heat. Item is the genuine article USMC gear and recommend this vendor highly. OORAH and good day!

Very comfortable hat. Like that it covers the face from sun better than a regular baseball type cap. Solid materials used. I personally cut the rim to make it to my liking.

It keeps the sun off when I need it to. It's not exactly the same as what I remember in the Marines, but it's close enough. The brim is a bit wider than I'd expected. Overall a nice cover.

Fells well made but sized a little small

Contrary to pictures shown and answers to questions asked, the MARPAT desert boonie I ordered and just received does not have an EGA or the lining inside. Wanted a replacement for my well worn issued boonie. The material looks of decent quality, but it is not authentic MARPAT or USMC issue. I feel misled by the information associated with this product. Buyer beware.

This is not a standard issue Marine corps boonie. when I put it on my head the brim looks like I have a giant freaking saucer sitting on my head

I don't have a Marine Corps uniform shop nearby, so Amazon to the rescue! Yes, this is gen-u-wine USMC issue, and fits nicely on my big noggin.
