Easy to rinse
I rinsed once before putting in tank. Cleaned easily. Looks very dark in tank. It’s only been a week, but I love the look of this gravel. Everything with color pops against the black

I love it
I love the size it has; perfect for my aquarium, my fish loves it and lies down on these stones and sleeps for hours, he really loves them.

It didn't even need to be washed!
Every time I get gravel, I put it in buckets run the hose and get the dust off.Last time I bought this brand, there was no dust! It was good to go. This time I dumped bags into two tanks, and filled. There were a few floating pieces, but water was crystal clear and good to go. HUGE time saver!

This gravel is smooth & safe for fancy goldfish
I did a lot of research to find a gravel that was not sharp and jagged like most, because my fancy fantails are prone to scratching/infections. This is smooth and attractive. I recommend getting a good turkey baster to spot clean, as debris shows up starkly in black, but I love the look.

Love it, will always use this gravel
So far I've ordered two of the 5 Ib bags over the last 7 months. One for my 2.7 gallon and another for my 5.5 gallon (I had some different gravel transferred to my 5.5 gallon along with one of these bags.) My 5.5 gallon came with gravel but I love this as my substrate for both my tanks ( 1 Betta, 1 shrimp tank.) The gravel is a great size, big enough that my Betta wouldn't be able to eat it (if he ever tried, not sure if he has.) It did have a few small pebbles but those mostly washed out of the strainer, while I was rinsing them. The black hasn't flaked off, like other black gravel I've tried in the past and the shine makes it look great for my Betta tank (my shrimp tank has plants so it's not as obvious to see the gravel.) Depending on how much gravel you like 1 of the 5 lb was more than enough for my 2.7 gallon. I have lights under my shrimp tank, so I used roughly 10 lb to elevate the background and partially cover the lights. If I need more I'll definitely purchase this brand again.

I love this gravel! I have been using it for years & the last time I bought it, I’d say it lasted 5 years before needing to be replaced (the black paint can chip). I have tried sand and other gravel before & one thing I like about the black color is I feel like algae build up is less noticeable. I cleaned/rinsed the gravel when I got it and there actually wasn’t a ton of dust that came off.

Wish I hadn't brought
I cleaned this rock really well but since I added it I have had nothing but issues in my tank.
